No, the model has too much going on. The big ol' tiara, the big necklace! Another case of over-accesorizing, unfortunately it's a common crime. Once you properly accesorize, you will see that it looks beautiful on you. Less is more.

I was looking at the non-traditional wedding dresses thread and also my mom and sister are telling me that its not fancy so I have to get a very fancy headpiece, etc....so

I really like your dress! I know how it feels not to like your dress. I felt that way after my frist fitting... but I feel better now Maybe you can have a semastress do something to it to change it so you will like it more? Change sleeves, add more bead, whatever you think is missing

OH NO don't give up so easy!! I SO love your dress, and I know that its going to look gorgeous on you ( then again, I'm a little biased.. my dress was a VERY similar Maggie gown ) I'm such a fan of sleeves on a gown .. you don't see them as often anymore. That alone makes it different than the norm these days
Its not at ALL plain, if that's what you are worried about! Its got just enough embellishment and you can add to it or let the gown speak for itself .
It is SOO VERY HARD to realize how your gown will truly look on you when you try on a sample that doesn't fit right, is wrinkly, and you don't have the correct undergarments, etc. Once you have a fitting and see it closer to your day, you will get a better idea of how BEAUTIFUL you will look!
I have never seen a gown that looks BETTER on a model than it does on an actual bride.. you will be glowing and gorgeous !!!

Heather, you're nuts. That dress is beautiful. And like I mentioned in previous posts, just accesorize it to how you want. A glamorous veil, or really shiny necklace should bring the dress out to your expectations. I don't see what you're talking about, I think it'll look great on you.
However, if you are DEAD set on not using it, you can sell your dress (on ebay, or craigslist). Unfortunately, I don't think that your mom will get her $ back, but you can try, and if not, then it's better to get something back, and wear the dress that makes you feel absolutely perfect.
Think long & hard. Are you sure you don't want that dress? If you're dead set, then start taking actions immediately. You have a lot of time, but it's best to get a big jump on things before it's too late.

I hated my dress too.. but ya know what, I think i was just bored, and saw so many other dresses, I got overwhelmed.. THE DRESS really is beautiful, and can you go try it on again, with you hair make up, and veil etc. on?? it really will make a difference, and I LOVE YOUR DRESS.. don't change it really

But on a serious note - if you REALLY feel that way - you may carry that on yr w-ding & then your pics/album will really be terrible.
Why dont you try it on again - maybe add illusion chiffon sleeves ?

I think that your dress is beautiful!!!! I think it looks great on you!!! I also think that if your mom and sister told you it is not fancy enough they are smoking crack!!!! It is simple and elegant. It is a dress that Audrey Hepburn would have been proud to wear!!!!!

Definately less is more- that dress is so classically pretty and it really defines your body in a great way. Go simple- nice small tiara, long veil, actually a veil can really change the look of a dress- have tried on a really long one like chapel or cathedral?????

Please don't take this the wrong way - but if you hate how it looks on you but think it looks nice on the model...why not change how it looks on you? YOu have seven months to make a difference :) I think the dress is very pretty though.

Not for nothing and not to be a trouble maker but I don't know how to take this if you posted this to me. I know your intentions are good but I seriously don't know how I would handle this.

HEATHER!!!!! NO!!!!! You look wonderful, and we would not bullsh*t you! I don't know what to add that hasn't already been said. But I TOTALLY agree with the girl who said you have to see it all together- the veil, tiara, hair, make-up etc, to see the full effect of it.

I think it's gorgeous. It's not too late to get a veil with crystals and bugle beads, a great necklace or a fantastic pair of earrings. I don't think it's plain at all!

You definitely have to see it all together. We all go through the 'hate' my dress phase. You select the dress and then there is so much time between then and the actual wedding day that you can drive yourself crazy, did I pick the right dress? What if I tried one more dress on?
Just remember what you thought the first time you tried on the dress. You must have felt beautiful in it if you chose it, and you will look beautiful in it on the day of your wedding.
