I really need help getting back into bridal mode!

Hi girls! I'm so upset I missed the winery trip, I definately would have been there...when is the next trip???

Not sure if DCgirl82 told you about the tragic thing that happened in my family. I'm sure everyone read about the man in Islip that blew off his arm with a firework. Well he is my brother! And two weeks after that was our e-party...ugh...I was so not into it! But I had it because my brother demanded it. His accident happened on July 3rd, our e-party was July 17th. I wanted to reschedule but I guess I'm glad we did it...just really wasn't too into it...like I should have been.

But now that the e-party is done I need to get back into planning...June 3rd...is too much right around the corner. Yikes! Also want to get pictures up to share with everyone...I needed to throw myself back in here and talk to you girls again...just so hard when your family is going through so much...I'm hoping I'll get the bride gene back soon...

Your brother has an amazing attitude! I'm so sorry this happened to your family but I'm so happy that he is ok. Maybe focusing on the wedding can be a healing thing for you. It's something positive, planning for the future! A future that your brother will still be a part of! I can't even imagine what you are going through.

oh, wow so sorry to hear that this is your brother! It is such a tragedy, but sounds like your brother is a very strong person!

and you are very right, you have to be thankful that he is still with you and your family today!

I work at the same hospital that he was brought to, very small world!

oh no! i am so so sorry for what yr brother and you and your family are going through. How is your brother?? Of course you're not in bridal mode. That is totally understandable. You have PLENTY of time...focus on your family right now.

Thank you girls! My brother is okay he just doesn't have an arm right now. He will hopefully get a prostetic in like 8 months. He told me he is going to do one handed kart wheels down the isle. He is my only siblings so he is in our wedding party. Oh geez my wedding is going to be so emotional now. I want to have a dance with my brother rather than my father...I guess I can do both but my brother being alive and being able to even be there is a gift in itself!

It's been rough cause I think I'm babying him too much. I want to do everything for him and I know that is bad I have to stop.

He has a great attitude and you're right he is sooo lucky to be alive. Definitely do a brother sister dance.

Which hospital?? Southside or Nassau Medical?? And thank you I am trying to be there for him as much as he wants me there. It's tough cause he goes through these stages that he wants to be alone :0(

Thank you! We had our e-party for my brother cause I didn't want to upset him and alter him in anyway. I fig if we didn't have it him getting upset would not help his healing but it was okay I honestly didn't enjoy it like I should have cause I wanted my brother to be there, this nightmare that my family encountered to just go away. But he is hanging in there. It's so rough doing things with one arm he def changed his life forever! :0(

I appreciate you thinking of my family throughout this horrible accident, all the prayers and support is what is making him stronger and moving forward. I truly believe in that! His support system is what is going to keep his spirits up and not get depressed. Thank goodness cause if his spirits were down, he wouldn't be healing as quick. I cannot thank you enough! Truly!!!
