They're so much more that he doesn't like than he does.
No watches, cufflinks or any other type of jewelry.
What are (or did) you giving your FH?
(I do have a framed wedding poem that I got him on a trip called 'I promise' but I really wanted something more. It's more like a REALLY nice wedding card.)

I can't spend that much because of this darn wedding so I figured I would secretly get his wedding band engraved and get him something for his game room which is the basement. Maybe a vending machine or an air hockey table.

My FH won't wear a watch either.
Originally, I would have said I would spend 'whatever it took' to give him something that he would really like. But now, I'm running out of time and money. (He would say not to do that and to save my money for the house we're trying to find anyway.) I think that a few hundred would be OK.

I think a night away at a b&B or something would be nice.. I can recommened some places for you..
Or, treat him to something on the HM-- I am sure he'll see something in Europe.
Give him like a card, with a nice note-- then like a 'coupon' good for whatever he sees that he wants on the HM... do something cute like that.. That way, you stop stressing, and you know it will be something he wants.

The only thing that he is really into is his computer. He loves playing games on it. He just bought a new Dell recently so that he could have a faster game board. I just know ABSOLUTELY nothing about them.

You have me thinking. I'm trying to think if there's something that I could do for him on the HM that isn't really for me (e.g. an eveing Gondola ride) We already booked our excursions so I can't surprise him with one of those.

maybe research some stuff-- and do something a little more.. or plan a special dinner..
I know that in Provence you can have these elaborate dinners in a farm house-- where it is a trip the country side and you mingle with the locals.. maybe something like that-- where it is a really special experience.

That sound amazing
The only overnight we have is in Venice. Maybe there's something we could do there (aside from a Gondola ride- I say that because he knows that I really want to do one- Therefore, if I give that to him as a present, he's tease me and say it was for me )

You have to do the gondola ride @ sunset. - it's the most amazing romantic 'I can't believe i'm really here and doing this' thing ever !! Aside from that, just BEING in Venice is amazing. - Sorry, had to add my 2 cents !!

Venice is so beautiful- and I bet they have something special that tourists will want to spend their money on..
What about doing some glass blowing there? I wonder if they have anything that is open to the public- may be worth a couple of calls and maybe they'll do it for you, for the right price.. That would be so cool, and then you would each have a really personal memento from the trip.

We booked a tour already of the Murano glass factory and the Burano lace factory. That's what is making this so hard. He had me go through all of the excursions we can do while we're on the cruise and we booked them a couple of weeks ago. It's going to be an amazing trip, but the fact that we did it already is not helping my cause.
I am just so afraid that he will do something like give me diamond earrings, and I will be empty handed.

tickets to the superbowl???
You can probably get those through a ticket broker- I may have a # for you to call.
what about a surprize waiting for him when you get home from the HM?? Have someone set something up in the house.

We don't live together, and he's going to move in with me in my apartment. I need to borrow dressers from my parents and clear out half the closet. I also want to get us each a night table (I am presently using my Ikea dresser.) Would it be totally dorky to do a 'Welcome to Our Home' theme?

I think it would be great to have all that stuff taken care of for when you guys come home.. You can do something really special for your first night together in your new home..
Can you enlist some help for it??

Yes, probably. My mom and my sister will be cat sitting for me while we're away.
I already bought our blue towels behind his back. We didn't get them at the shower and the towels I already have are purple or pink.
I also thought I could get him a terry robe.
And he kept looking at this dresser valet in the Red Envelope catalog as a possible GM present so I think he liked it.
Maybe my mom would leave us some dinner in the fridge so we won't have to cook when we get back.

Re: I so desparately need help with FH's present
I think by getting him a lot of 'creature comforts' to have in the house- to make him feel at home would be great.
Plus all that stuff adds up-- and I am sure he'll appreciate the thought.
