I so desparately need help with FH's present

Original post by thiadora

They're so much more that he doesn't like than he does.

No watches, cufflinks or any other type of jewelry.

What are (or did) you giving your FH?

(I do have a framed wedding poem that I got him on a trip called 'I promise' but I really wanted something more. It's more like a REALLY nice wedding card.)

I think by getting him a lot of 'creature comforts' to have in the house- to make him feel at home would be great.

Plus all that stuff adds up-- and I am sure he'll appreciate the thought.

Be creative!

Thanks.

The only thing that he is really into is his computer. He loves playing games on it. He just bought a new Dell recently so that he could have a faster game board. I just know ABSOLUTELY nothing about them.

Just want to say, my FH is the same exact way and though I have a lot more time than you do, I have NO clue what to get him!

Get a blackberry or an ipod. If he loves his computer he will LOVE his blackberry.

What about a nice pair of sunglasses for the honeymoon? That's what I got FH. I went on Overstock and was able to buy 4 pairs (Yves Saint Lauren, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and Blinde) for less than one pair would have cost in a store.
I'll also be buying him a flat screen TV when we get back from our HM, but that's really his engagement gift, just a little late.

OK, I know what an ipod is, but what's a blackberry? (I'm technologically challenged )

It's a Nextel product, if I'm not mistaken. I believe its a phone/PDA...It does a lot I know that much. My FH works for Nextel...you would think I would know exactly haha!

I definately think its a great gift for a computer/gadget lover!

It is a neat little combo device that in addition to being able to serve as a cell phone, is a small PDA that delivers real time email. It has a real cult following. I bought one for FI who ADORES his and in fact, he just bought me one because he enjoys it so much. Between that and an IPOD any techie will be thrilled. I say go for one of those -- then it is clearly a gift for him from you as opposed to something like you said, the gondola ride where is not just a gift he really wants.
