My boss called me into his office lastnight and he was like you are taking to much sick time. I was how is that i have over 85 sick hours. He was like ppl have over 100. So he said that he is going to give me a veberal warning, I told him that i get urau migranies and that i cant see and my mouth and hands go numb and i cant drive. He told me no im not saying you are lieing but just be aware that you are using to much time. So I told him that i will get a letter from my Neuro to give you and he was like no i dont want it. I said to him the last time that i was out i fainted and that i was rush to the hospital and he was like, i dont need to know just be aware. Im so mad that he said this to me. I had 4.5 sick days in 6 mth and im abusing it.

I really think this was the last straw, i need to start looking for a new job, but im just wooried that i wont found anything that will pay as much as im making now.

thanks, it is so funny because my manager is never here and never calls us I run this whole office and it I leave they will have nothing and they pratice would go down. They wont be able to hire something to all my stuff that I do here and I've been fighting for a raise for 2years and they add more job duties.

i am SOOOOOOOO sorry that you're going through that at work i can't believe they would say that you're abusing your use of sick time. i think if they act this way, you should be happy to get a new job. but i know how hard it is to be settled in a position, making a decent amount of money, and being worried that you won't find the same situation elsewhere. i'm going through that now.

apparently your boss doesnt seem to understand that we are all human beings and yes somethimes we do need some time for ourselves because everybody gets sick. I'm surprised at his lack of understanding, he sounds like a robot that doesnt care about his employees, he only cares about covering his *** and making sure work gets done....

Girl....I would look for another job and give him a kick in the butt

Sorry to hear this Keri. I would definitely get a letter from your neuro, not to show your boss but god forbid you get fired I think you could have a case on your hands for wrongful termination. If you are legitimately sick and aren't using more then your allotted hours for sick days I don't think they can fire you.

He sounds like a real piece of work!! And it seems like you do more than your share of work there, so probably when your out everything falls apart and he's trying to get you to be around more. Screw him..take care of yourself first!! I hope things get better, I'm sorry your going through this!

Your boss is bluffing and playing a risky game that will land him in a big Labor Lawsuit. If you have the time you are legally entitled to it. Get the letter from Neuro and ensure you have your last healt incident documented as well just in case he's dumb enough to fire you. In the mean time look for something else even if it is somewhat comparable. I hate to sound cliche but sometimes money isn't everything and your health is waaaay more important. Good luck to you and don't stress on it too much so your migraines don't get worse.

Bosses can be real jerk-offs. Are you union backed? Never underestimate the power of a union delegate! Fight those ball breaking bosses!!!!

I would document all this. Make sure to give him a letter from your doctor saying that you do have a condition and that you can faint. Can you go to human resources or a higher person to complain?

this is crazy! bosses often dont understand that without you (or me in my case) the office would go to s h i t and they would be left with doing the work themselves...i would start looking for another job. In September, my job will be hiring for a full time office manager, and we will need someone in the summer if you are interested, FM me...
