so today I went out to my FH's familys in valley stream to visit his sick grandmother in the hospital..shes doing alot better but this was my first real experiance with everyone having somthing to say about MY wedding. I havent seen his family since we got engaged and all my family and friends are sooooooooo supportive and dont say anything about any of my plans.
a few things they said which upset and hurt me and I know i shouldnt let it get to me
his 18 yr old sister who is one of my bridesmaids wa sso mean to me,
she looks at my ring and goes..ehhh its ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to punch her. u have no idea
then shes complaining that she wants to wear a short dress like to her thighs for the wedding and she doesnt like long...well sorry hunny..its a formal wedding
then she says she doesnt like black bc it wont show her tan
then i was telling her how I want all my girls to wear their hair up since im wearing it down and she goessss nooooooo i wanna wear my hair down...u wear your up
helllloooo its my wedding ....ommggg
then the rest of the family complained that since im doing black and pink that black are funeral colors and its going to be bad luck
I just am really upset..ugh...sorry for complaining..i just know u guys understand..
how do u guys deal with things like this? and not seem like a 'bridezilla'

dont worry you have time.. hopefully the 18 yr old will grow up a bit before your big day.. if you cant try to have fh explain to them that this is your big day.. and one day shell get married and shell want to call the shots.. after all what goes around comes around.. good luck.. it can only get better : )

SHe has to be in your wedding party right? If not I would say take her out. Dont listen to what other people say , its your wedding, its your day. People are just jealous. Hope you feel better

Try not to pay them any mind. Whatever you decide to do people are going to complain about something...you can't please them all...nor do you have to. The only two people that matter are you and your FH...don't forget that!!!!!

ouch!! people are just sooo stupid sometimes. try to yes them to death for as long as you can and try to avoid all wedding conversation with certain people cause you KNOW where it will go!!

What nerve they have. Esp. the sister. How dare she. Who does she think she is? You do what you want and because of what she said I wouldn't even care if I didn't do what she wanted. Try not to let it get to you. Talk to your family about everything since they are supportive.

the day after fh and i got engaged the first thing out of one of my cousins mouth was ooo i cant wait to be a bridesmaid!!! but to her surprise i was not planning on asking her....we are not even close we see each other maybe if were lucky 2x a year.....i was so mad that night....how could she just assume and put me on the spot like that...well i was talking to my dad about it and this is what he said.......'You're wedding is your's and FH's day.........do what makes you happy.....you cant please everybody and no matter what you do someone will have something to say about it........' and its tru...Its YOUR day....as for your fsil when some fool puts a ring on her finger she can call all the shots she wants....sorry they upset you.......................................................................................P.S. Im doing Black BM dresses as well!!!

I am so sorry you are going thru this. I think your FSIL may just be a little jealous that all eyes will be on you that day and not her. Dont let her get to you. It is your wedding...black is a very formal color for a wedding--it is not bad luck. Maybe you should tell your FH how hurt they made you feel and maybe he can 'tactfully' let them know that you would really appreciate their support on this matter, and if they have any complaints to just keep them to themselves. Good luck -- my Future family in laws are pains also....so i know how you feel

it sounds like his sister is immiture. I would ignore her. It's your day. And you know what if she don't like it tell her she don't have to be in it. It's your day remember that. for her wedding she can wear a short dress.
