So my parents, FH parents and FH and I have decided I will most likely cancel my RH this week. Unfortunately, I must have booked for a popular date because I have found that alot of RHs that I had looked at previously are already booked on May 22, so I may also have to change my date to sometime in July. It has been a huge headache. Thank you girls for all your advice today. I really appreciate it. It has been hard and I have been really sad but I think I am making the best decision.

Look at Land's End! Especially during the spring/summer, the grounds are so beautiful and they are known for having great food. Good luck with wherever you end up, you will totally find someplace that you love!
Try not to stress just choose another date and Im sure you will find someone who isnt booked. Dont give up!! It will all go well.

sorry to hear that kristen, but its good that you went with your gut feeling otherwise you may have been disappointed come the day of.... im sure youll be able to find a great RH that is beautiful AND has awesome food!!

I read this post last night before going to bed (yes checking the board is one of the last things I do...addicting) and wanted to reply.
I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience at the food tasting that it made you decide to cancel all together. What I think is that although it may be hard and stressful, I imagine, right now, in the end you will look back and thank god you took the risk to cancel. Think about it this way, if you had stayed with the RH you might have spent your wedding day worried that people were not enjoying the food, hey you would have probably not enjoyed the food and would be left dissappointed. Now in a way, the fun of the search starts over again and you will be a better informed bride for it. I
It will all turn out ok in the end. good luck and if there's anything we can do we are here and venting is a-okay.

you girls are honestly the best. I thank each of you for your advice! Everyone on here is so sweet and helpful. I hope I can help each of you one day! I feel so much better just reading all your replies. Its great to have people to talk to that you have something in common with, especially since at times your friends and family get tired of hearing you complain about wedding stuff haha. I cant thank you guys enough, you are all wonderful. Love my 2010 girls.

Ohhhh nooo!! I am so sorry to hear this!!! My cousin got married at the Bourne and it was beautiful so I was very excited for you!!
I'm sure you will find the perfect place though... And the most important part is the exchanging of vows, and you are already doing that in a church that you LOVE.

I think you are making the right decision as well. If you are not 100% happy with your RH then you should continue looking. I know I would hate the stress for the next year about such a HUGE part of the wedding. I am sory to hear this happend to you and your FH, but I am sure you will find an amazing place which will ease all your worries. Let us know how we can help!!! What halls did you look at in the past? We can all def suggest things for you!
Aside from good food (which is obv) what type of hall are you looking for and for how many people?

I've been to the Woodlands and the inside is just beautiful. It is charming and quaint, and I believe the mansion was a wedding gift from a father to his daughter. One of the rooms is where the owner did her paintings, and the walls are made up of an extinct wood which I thought was amazing. The ballroom is also very lovely. I would definitely check it out.
