I think I am canceling my RH

So my parents, FH parents and FH and I have decided I will most likely cancel my RH this week. Unfortunately, I must have booked for a popular date because I have found that alot of RHs that I had looked at previously are already booked on May 22, so I may also have to change my date to sometime in July. It has been a huge headache. Thank you girls for all your advice today. I really appreciate it. It has been hard and I have been really sad but I think I am making the best decision.

Kristen, I am sorry you have to deal with this. But it is definately for the best. After all, it is the one big party of your life and everything -- especially the food -- should be perfect...especially for the $!!!

John and I looked at about 20 RHs and did a few food tastings, so if you need any help, dont hesitate to ask!!

Have you looked at the Royalton? It's not quite as grand a mansion as Bourne, but the food is excellent and they do have pretty rooms and grounds. My sister's wedding was there a couple of weeks ago.

I am sorry to hear that you have to cancel your hall. But your wedding day is special so it is probably best to find out sooner rather than later that you do not like the food...maybe try glen cove mansion...i hear it is beautiful..North Ritz club also has a mansion like feel

That stinks, but it is better to cancel now than to be disappointed at the wedding! You will find somewhere that is beautiful AND that has great food!

I'm really sorry to hear this! It always surprises me when brides don't do tastings right away, so it is great that you got that done, even if the outcome was not what you hoped for. I would suggest looking into the Royalton in Roslyn, if you are going for a mansion-y type feel. It's certainly different than the Bourne or GCM, but it is really charming and the food is excellent! Stinks that you have to cancel your hall, but its better that you realized this now than later...Good luck finding another hall and if you need any help we will all be here for you!!!!

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this but like everyone has said, I'm sure you will be better off in the long run. I know someone else suggested The Woodlands to you as it does have a similar feel to the Bourne Mansion. I only booked there about 3 weeks ago and as of that time they still had some Fridays and Saturdays in July available. I was shooting for the 16th but FH's brother got married there in July 2006 and he wanted his own month (LOL). Good luck and if you need pricing info let me know.
