I'm freaking out a little from the sticker shock, but I fell in love with a ring at a jewelry store I randomly stopped in this afternoon after getting my e-ring appraised. I haven't looked around very much for my wedding band, but the few rings I did try (eternity bands and anniversary rings) didn't sit right up against my e-ring like I wanted...they had a gap between the bands. Does that makes sense?
I had thought my simple ring would be easy to match, but it wasn't...until I found this amazing ring today. So, I put down a $100 refundable deposit and came home to think about it. It's .36 TW diamond 18K white gold for $1,500. Do you think I'm crazy? I keep trying to justify it to myself because it is way over what I wanted to spend on a ring. And I did want a simple platinum ring to match my e-ring. But something just felt right when I put this one on. Arggg, why do I always second guess everything? LOL
If the pic I upload doesn't work, I put several pics in my album under Wedding Band. What do you ladies think?

I don't think you are crazy. If you love it, don't second guess it! Mine and FH's wedding bands were insanely expensive but we are in love with them. It is our lifetime rings to each other and figured that was worth the splurge.

It's so pretty! As for the price I would try to negotiate with him. My ring is costing the same and it has .95 TW diamonds.

I think it's absolutely Gorgeous! I don't know really what a ring like that should cost but what I do know is you will be wearing this ring for the rest if your life, so as long as its do-able price wise, and you love it, go for it!

Thanks everyone! FH is coming with me when I go back to the store on Monday. He didn't like it when I showed him the pics, so I want him to see it in person. My heart sank a little when he said he was 'surprised' by my choice and now I really want to try it on again.

Crashing. I do agree, my ring was the same price and I got platinum and more diamonds (not sure of weight, is that bad?).
I think the key in your post is that you haven't really looked. You have plenty of time, so I would suggest you do a little more research and then make a decision.
It is beautiful and remember you are the one who is going to look at it everyday. Get what makes you happy and no regrets.

absolutely not crazy!!! its extremely beautiful!!! I spent $2900 on my wedding band its so worth the money if you find something you like!!! your ring is absolutely beautiful and i think you got an amazing deal

Is your engagement ring platinum? My sister had a plain platinum band like you do and picked a very similar wedding ring with diamonds in a leaf design- in white gold. Less than a year later she had lost a stone because the harder platinum was wearing away the edges of the gold. She had to have all the diamonds removed and the ring re-designed to a simple channel design. She never expected that, but wanted to give you a heads up, since that ring looks a lot like hers.

Yikes!! I was wondering about having the white gold wedding band next to my platinum e-ring band. And a little worried about the pave diamonds too as I am clumsy and not easy on my jewelry. My deposit is refundable for 2 weeks, so I think I am going to look around and see if I can find something I love equally in platinum.
There is an Artcarved ring (http://www.artcarvedbridal.com/Jewelry.action?details=&jewelry=1608) I loved online and had planned to take the pic to Elsa in Farmindale to see if they could make something similar (they're closed for vacation until 7/17). Maybe I should take pics of both ring styles and see what they can do for me in platinum.
FH calmed my nerves about the cost of the ring by putting it into perspective. I've paid way more to go on a 4-day vacation, so spending $1,500 or even $3,000 on something I'll wear for the rest of my life doesn't sound so ridiculous anymore.

yeah usually when you have platinum you have to stick to platinum because of the rubbing against metals!

Also, my e-ring is platinum but I'm probably getting a white gold wedding band since I don't plan on wearing them together.
