i think i made a mistake

i think i made a mistake

So ,I went wedding gown shopping for the first time about a month ago. I tried in 7 dresses, all different styles. I didnt plan on buying a dress on my first shopping experience but I loved this one particular dress..and so did my sister....so I ended up buying it. Now the problem is, I think really want this other dress. I'm really bummed out about this. I feel like I bought a dress too soon and I'll be unhappy wearing a dress that i bought too soon. Anyone have this happen? I'm not sure what i should do...

totally understand..I bought my dress after trying on 3 dresses...I loved it..still do...now that I am working at a bridal shop i see so many dresses and i tried one on the other night. I loved the style and felt like maybe I made the wrong decision. Then the more I thought about it I realized a couple things...
1. Something obviously made me buy it and love it...
2. I could walk down the aisle in a potato sack and still have it be the most amazing and beautiful day of my life.

Dont stress...good luck I bet the gown is gorgeous!

Someone on here once gave a girl some really good advise who was having the same issue. She recommended going back and trying on the dress you bought, you may get that feeling back you got the day you bought it and realize why you picked it. If not, do you think you would be able to sell it and at least get some of your money back?

DId you try talking to the bridal shop where you bought the dress? Maybe they will cancel your order and order the one you want for you??

I'm actually sooo worried about that happening... so worried that I haven't even started dress shopping yet so that doesn't happen!

me, you, and irishbride....we are date triplets..lol
I guess I'll start by making an appt to try the dress on again and then take it from there, I would hate to have to cancel the order..because it would prob just be a headache...and i would hate to loose money

I agree....it's too important of a day to wear something you are not happy with....you have to feel your best and if it means wearing another dress than you have to make it work....weddings are expensive as it is....pretend something else cost more. Hopefully though, you will try on dress #1 and fall in love with it all over again.

The same thing happened to me. I went to one store after doing some internet research, had about 5 or 6 in mind I wanted to try on and when I tried on my top choice from the internet I loved it in person too. Then I went back with my mom and I didn't think she would buy it but she did. As time went on I realized that I didn't feel as comfortable with it as I did the first day I tried it on and during BM dress shopping I stumbled upon another one which I loved. I ended up buying that one and I'm still trying to sell the first one. I felt really stupid, but it was worth it to get the second one because I know I'll feel a lot more comfortable and beautiful in it.

She's right. I mean, if it's a dress you don't love anymore, maybe you can wear two if the first dress isn't too expensive?

Find out from the bridal store if you can change the dress you picked and try on the dress again and see how you feel in it. You might fall in love with it again

Re: i think i made a mistake

I am going through the same exact thing, I only went to one other store and now I'm haveing buyer's remorse. I think I made a really bad decision! I picked up my dress yesterday and I was crying because
1) I bought it at david's bridal
2) I think I jumped into things too quickly
3) They told me they were ordering it from the warehouse and I don't think they did when I got the dress there were two spots where the beads were falling off and it was all wrinikled. But I am can't say 100% all I know is they are not doing my alterations. But I am also kind of looking for a way out of having that dress! I know exactly how you feel! But things will get better (Sorry for the rant) You will look gorgeous on your wedding day. You can always sell it on ebay or there is a website that you pay 20 dollars for the year ( I think) to post your dress. HTH
