How much were the bridesmaid dresses your girls are wearing cost???? before alterations

I got my girls dresses from netbride...they were $107....at other places we saw them for $60-80 more. Give them a try if your dresses are a little too expensive. I have been very happy with them.

My girls dresses were $116. I bought them online at Loralie.com!! There dresses were gorgeous and the fabric was beautiful. If you go on their site and find a dress you like you can request a swatch. They will send you as many dress swatches as you want. I got so many I could have made a dress out of the swatches.

I am just so upset..

well all of the girls picked out the same vera wang dress.... they love it but the one BM came today and tried on like 3 dresses loved it but then started complaining about the price... it would be $250 after the discount
you would definately wear it again and it is THE dress.... it is hard enough to get her to go dress shopping as today was her first time

i really dont think that is that much to ask and they are not paying or chipping $$ for the shower... no one else had a problem
there is a long story behind it but they know me and know what they were in for

i dont mean that rude but it is true.... now even my mom and everyone else said it is my wedding and if that is the dress you want then there shouldn't be a problem....

another BM is volunteering to pay for it

this BM that is complaining is a teacher and lives at home with her parents... and spends money on what she wants!!!

Maybe you could offer to pay for some of it and it will be her gift for being in the wedding. Some people are just cheap!!! Tell her this is the dress, buy or or she can't be in the wedding!!

i am not cheap and as a BM would make a 'stink' about a $252 dress pre-alterations - but your suggestion for jill13bean to offer to pay for some of it i think is a good one...

I tried to keep it under $200 pre alterations. So we did that by getting a Bill Levkoff that I loved for $196 but 2 BM's had to get extra length which was $40 and so then add tax and well you are talking $250
BUT none complained. They said it's my wedding and I should be happy.
You have to realize that $252 before taxes will be closer to $300 after adding all the other stuff in plus the alterations after that.
I agree offer to pay for part of it toward her gift especially if it's a dress they can wear again.

i wpild offer to pay for s oem as the gift (as i did for my MOH) but then they wont have the same necklace and earrings.... i was going to get them either a tiffany necklace or swarovski earrings and neclace set

i am being picky but arent i allowed?

maybe i will just tell them to wear pearls or studs and just get them a necklace and give her 50$ towards the dress
but as everyone else said what is another $50?

oyyyynow i am getting soooo upset and it sux all because one is CHEAP!!!

i am only getting married once.... i would never bring $$$$ up ... i asked my closest friends to be in my BP.. there are so many other close friends that would love to be in her place

it is also tough because i think we just have drifted apart (although she would always be a BM) and it was a big stink getting her to come to try on dresses today!

While I think she should just suck it up since its your wedding, I would be a bit peeved if I had to spend over $300 on a dress of someone elses choosing. Can you just pay for the dress for her?

It sounds like you are annoyed wth her over other things too. If you really have drifted apart, that may be another reason why she doesnt wnat to spend the $300.

My girls are paying $125. A seamstress is sewing it to their size so no alterations. I'm paying $166 for my dress for aunt's wedding from David's Bridal.

Mine were 180 and i fell bad about that. I think 250 is a lot and she is not cheap just because she doesn't want to spend that much. That is a lot!
I feel bad that the girls have to spend so much and none of mine are complaining about money. Not only are mine paying for their dress, they are paying for their make-up, hair, shoes. It all adds up and not everyone has that much to spend. So i think if i were you i would be a little more understanding or you might be minus a BM.

well the funny thing is she is the most financially set.... she is a teacher and still lives with her parents..
yet she can go and spend money how she pleases like ggo out to the city every other weekend.. and to vegas for the weekend
same one.. awsome.. 14M21

considering...they do not have to get their hair done.. i just want it all up... they can wear what ever open toe shoes they want... they don't have to get their make-up done, and they are not paying $$$ for the shower

we actually just ordered them today... @ RK bridal in NYC some did 'no frills' (they measured themselves and used a chart for the size) and that was $132, however if they used RK to measure them and do all the work, it would be $178.

ok here it is... i just spoke to the other part of our trio Best friends
i was telling her how upset i was and me and the other BM got into a disagreement on friday and it started there... we don't get the chance to talk so much... and i just found out she might not have a job next year

well bottom line.. the BM i just spoke to said i think we should get that dress.. and i started to get so upset because it is not ruining a lifelong friendship over... she said the other BM is absolutely fine with it... she was just upset with me and it was just weird today because i didn't speak to BM(the one that didn't want to pay that much) since we had a disagreement) and she showed up this morning at the wedding salon... they were in the city and met up last night and came straight to the salon

i think we really just need to talk things out.. it was a misunderstanding
but i think everything is going to be fine

the BM i just spoke to said she will spend any amount of money it doesn't matter to her... she said this is once in a lifetime and she wants it to be the best

i feel much better but i still need to speakl to other BM to work out things

sorry for the vent.. a little confusing because i didnt start from teh beginning

I got four different Vera Wang styles and they all were approximately $260. after the Wedding Salon's discount. All my BM's are thrilled with their dresses and happy to pay. Thank god.
I think as long as the dress is $300 or under, it is reasonable.
