I think it's kinda weird/creepy...

how vendors STALK this website!! I posted a comment about my opinion about a venue (I won't say which one, but it was all good things) and they emailed me saying 'thanks for the kind words.'

I felt like writing back 'I didn't write it for you, I wrote it for the person asking for opinions!'

IDK I just think it's kinda weird...

Vendors do look at this website so keep that in mind when you post.

I think it is odd that they emailed you to thank you for your kind words. I think it is good business practice to know what is bring said about their company online but I do not see the need to email someone when they were not speaking to them.

I do think its weird/creepy also that they e-mailed you, but this is the internet and anyone can read what you post. Just keep that in mind!

I don't think we need to watch what we say bc its just our experiences and im sure everyone has good/bad experiences. thats life. Id wanna know about an issue with one of my vendors so i could prevent it or use it to my benefit

I agree with you girls about watching what you post, but honestly I'd post a good or bad experience- I wouldn't bash a vendor, because it's just not my style and I wouldn't want to discourage anyone else who is using them (unless it was really horrendous). I just thought it was weird that I literally went to this venue once, looked around for like 20 minutes, and left and they wrote to my personal email!

While we're on the subject, I love how vendors try to be slick and post random things about their business- seriously, make sure you have more than 1 post and that your wedding year isn't 2044 people!!

The same thing happened to me when I was giving an honest opinion about a vendor I didn't like and was giving my reasons why to another bride. They emailed me a long letter and I thought it was sooo strange and weird! I know a lot of vendors search their names to see what people are saying about them which I guess is fine, but they shouldn't email us!

totally weird! i wrote something once about the name of a company (nothing bad) and they FM me about the comment. it was just odd. gave off that weird creepy vibe.

have to be on watch about anything you write now.

I disagree- I think they are just trying to keep up on what people are saying about them. I think it's savvy to use comments from here to better their business. And they were just thanking you for the kind words. But that's JMO!

Yes you do have to watch what you say, good or bad... Vendors lurk and want to see what people are saying and its just part of the deal, that you could be contacted by them!
