I think this is rude...

Original post by july06bride

I JUST got a wedding invitation..inside the invitation (by the way it was addressed to Mr and Mrs... yet we are not married yet) there was a small card...the card states

Dear Friends,
On this special day there is no better gift than your presence. At this time N and A will be living in rome, Italy and this is the reason they are choosing a wedding contribution instead of gifts.

Thanks

Is it me or is this completely unnecessary/??Please, let me know if i am overreacting.

Okay...I think everyone should take a deep breath and relax a little bit It's really not that serious, most of you said you were planning on giving money anyway, they just want to make sure they won't have to unwrap 200 toasters after they come back from the honeymoon. Someone paying for a $30,000 wedding couldn't care less about getting salt and pepper shakers, which unfortunately, many people don't realize. Be glad you're invited to share with them on their special day in the first place, who cares if they request monetary gifts??

I agree. That is weird that someone with little posts to their name bumped this particular post up
