I Was Robbed Yesterday!

Original post by SoonToBeMrsBrady

Ladies:
I took off of work yesterday and left my house about 12:15pm to go to a few stores. I was back by 2:30pm and my house was robbed. I think it was my cleaning lady because there was no break in and she's had a key to my apartment for almost 2 years...that's how long she's been working for us. She cleaned my house on Friday and came back yesterday, thinking I would be at work, but I wasn't. I think she had an accomplice and they watched me leave the house and went in. Me and FH were saving our change for the honeymoon in an empty 5 gallon water bottle. It wasn't full, but there had to be $1,000 worth of change in there and there is no way she took that out by herself. She also took my Movado watch, Michael Kors watch, FH's Bulova watch, my Canon Powershot digital camera, FH's Sony digital video camera and 2 of our iPod's. That's all that I've noticed so far. My house was not ransacked or torn apart...someone knew where all of these things were....Bam...the Cleaning Lady did it....but I have no proof. Thank god, I insured my engagement ring, which means that I do have renters insurance...which I am so grateful for...but it's the point, ya know? For any ladies out there who do not have their ring insured or their possesions in their house, you may want to think about it. She knew we were planning a wedding....and she goes and robs us...LOSER...What goes around comes around.

I agree with you girls, I'm not sure I could just wait for her to call me...I think I would try to call her right away...

A part of me wants to call her...but I want to tape it...how do I do that?

Buy a recorder and hook it up to the phone. You can get one for like 10 bucks at kmart also. I'm telling you. dont let this sit so easy. It's not fair to you and your FH.

I hear you...I'm going to buy it...but I still want to do a drive by, by her house. Prospect Heights, Brooklyn....here I come!

I'm soooo sorry this happened to you! I can't believe there is nothing the police can do about it! That $uck$!
I would definitely want to get her to confess, just BE CAREFUL....who knows where her accomplice will be hiding?
I wonder if she will try and come to work next week for you....maybe you can have a policeman in the house ( but parked around the block so as not to give it away), and when she knocks to get in, he can answer the door?
Good luck with everything...keep us posted. If the cops don't get her, Karma DEFINITELY will!

OMG SO SO Sorry about this.

I would definitely call her and ask her if she was over yesterday. Then start questioning her. I wouldnt go in person tho bc she might live with the accomplice and what if they are a wacko and have a weapon.

Also could it be that her home was broken into and someone stole all the keys and addresses. Oh people just really disgust me! I am so sorry! Is anyone on here dating a or married to a cop. What is protocol?

My sister was mugged this past winter after closing her store in Tanger Outlet. Not a good feeling.

I have a little bit of good news....FH has his iPod with him in Mexico and he had the digital video camera in a bag....which doesn't look like a camera bag and that is still in the house...Woo! Thank god!

Hm.. I think the only way to do that would be to buy a recorder that hooks up to your phone....they have casette tape ones and digital ones. If you have a digital voice recorder already, you may be able to just get an adapter for it.

I believe that by law they have to know you are recording the call....

Def look into that first!

What did the cops say? Are they questioning anyone?
