Happy Wednesday. Hope you are all staying safe with this nasty weather out. I literally skated to work today.....
Question of the day today is about FH's....what is the one thing about your FH that took the most getting used to? Whether it was a personality trait, his past, family, etc.....

For me I would say his past....it took me a little to get used to the way he was in his past, the fact that when I met him he had a daughter and a bit more experience than I did....

Till this day I still can't get over the fact that he always leave the door open at our apartment and doesn't put the soda back in the fridge. We're on to five years together and I still can't get used to this.

I would say my FH's shy-ness. I was used to dating outgoing, loud mouths, so when I met FH he was quite shy and I wasn't used to that...

Great question...
Couple of things I can't get use to such as: His family. Part of his personality (Although his changed a lot)

Mine would be his family. The typical italian mother who lives next door. Think everyone loves Raymond's Marie! But worse! Well, at least she has her moments. I was brought up to be a strong independent woman. Then I move in with FH and get comments that I need to 'do my job' and take care of her son! I was in shock! My dad did just as much around the house growing up as my mother!

This might seem silly but it's all I can think of right now. He leaves the lights on and takes super long showers!!! I grew up with my dad always telling me to turn off the lights and conserve water (the drought in California).... so i'm always turning off lights after him and telling him to hurry up in the shower!!
I love him though so I'll get used to it

He spends an hour and a half in the bathroom. Yes, ladies, you heard correctly. An hour and a half. Every morning. He's got a little mini office set up in there
I even refer to the toilet as his 'throne'
At first it drove me crazy (who the hell wants to be in the bathroom for that long?!?!?!?) but now I've come to accept that that's his 'me-time' and he purposely wakes up before me so that he's out more or less by the time I get up

Def. his family and I'm still getting used to it. I was kinda brought up to take care of myself, do my own thing, if I mess up it's my problem but they are always there for help.
But his family is all about being in his life. There isn't really a thick line dividing the 2 and it drives me up the wall!!!
I know some past things have added to this issue (like FH's health) but now that's all taken care of - it'st ime to cut the cord!!!!!!!!!

OMG U just reminded me of my FMIL...She spoils him rotten and I was raised to be an independant women in a house that was 50-50....when we moved in she was so weirded out by the fact that I wanted him to help cook and clean....

really nothing....a few little personality things that I can't mention here, lol, but for the most part, we fit really well. And his family is awesome. I think the thing it took the most getting used to was just sharing all my space with someone!

How he just leaves his clothes on the floor and can't put them in the hamper 10 feet from him. He is a slob. He knows it, and will probably read this later when I am at school until 7.

his sister.
Whats wrong with her? LOL
i think she would have automatically thought that no girl is good enough for her little brother. she barely knows me and makes assumptions about me. it's so sad, because i have such a nice happy life. my family is SO tight. i've never had a real problem with friends and family EVER and my relationship with her just sticks out like a sore thumb. it won't be fixed, because i'm just so over it. when it feels like it's getting better, she does something else. always drama.

Re: ICY QOTD: 2/2/11
Honestly, and I don't mean to sound corny, I had to get used to how perfect he was for me. The more I got to know him, I felt like someone read my diary and made him out of everything I always said 'I wish I could just find a guy who...'
I actually was waiting for the thing that would be wrong... you know, that one thing that makes you understand why other girls couldn't last with him.... nothing. His family is awesome, we have the same morals and goals... I used to hate when people said they were made for each other or they knew it the moment they met, blah blah... but ummm, yea. Then it happened
Oh, and he never puts the toilet seat down. Got used to that real quick after I fell in one night
