ICY QOTD: 2/2/11

Original post by Lana and Johan

Hello Ladies,

Happy Wednesday. Hope you are all staying safe with this nasty weather out. I literally skated to work today.....

Question of the day today is about FH's....what is the one thing about your FH that took the most getting used to? Whether it was a personality trait, his past, family, etc.....

Most things really do not stand out to me. I would maybe say some aspects of his family, but nothing major that I cannot handle!

he takes FOREVER to get in and out of the car

I know its stupid but he packs his truck just so, puts his ipod plugged in, fixes his glasses, shakes the sand off the mats, EVERY time he gets in and out... im not kidding its like 5 minutes... and im standing there waiting for him to be done cause he has the keys to the house..

Prolly how calm he would stay in the most horrible situations...it bothered me that he showed no emotions when he should have but then i learned it was his wall and it actually wasnt so bad

His Fam! And his Control Issues (not with me, with things that need to be done he is so use to being in charge at work! )

He's a LOT messier than I am and it drives me crazy cleaning up after him all the time! And I love his fam to death but you have to get used to them also! lol

his ability to do things when asked like when I say HEY babe can you carry the laundry basket downstairs so I can do laundry and it just sits there or how he puts dirty clothes right in front of the hamper.

Where do I start? Just kidding. There are minor things that annoy me, when he puts dishes in the sink he doesn't put water in it, (i.e. cereal bowl, cup of milk), when it's wet out, he somehow get water on the wood floors ( we have a rug right in front of the door, and one a few feet away), he NEVER puts a dryer sheet in the dryer (oh reminds me, I need to rotate the laundry :D )
Oh my I can keep going, but it's little things thankfully!
I'm pretty sure my clutter, leaving dishes in sink, among other things don't bother him at all.

FH is super sweet sometimes too sweet and get taken advantage of by 'friends' who don't have his best interest at heart. That took some getting used to but that's his relationship with them and try not to interfere. He always forget dryer sheets which is just annoying. I want to put a post it on the dryer. LOL

HIS MOM!!!! Still not used to that whole issue - 10 years later.

Then there are the little things - comes out of the shower dripping wet & soaks the bath mat, the stinky feet, the not putting drinks back in the fridge, but putting things away before I even get to use it.

The other hard thing is he hears next to nothing in his sleep so I have to be his alarm clock. If he is still asleep when I leave, I have to keep calling to wake him. If I forget my phone, I have to go back for it.

Anyone know of any alarm clocks for those who are VERY hard to wake?

He has a terrible temper...not physical, but he can't react to a bad situation calmly- he ALWAYS gets angry and worked up, and leaves me to deal with it!

FH is really messy. I love him but when we first moved in I wanted to kill him for not picking up after himself. Now its a little better and he even does laundry. But every once in a while,he still leaves his socks in the living room!

This might seem silly but it's all I can think of right now. He leaves the lights on and takes super long showers!!! I grew up with my dad always telling me to turn off the lights and conserve water (the drought in California).... so i'm always turning off lights after him and telling him to hurry up in the shower!!

I love him though so I'll get used to it

Same for me!!! He leaves like every light in the apartment on and is in the shower for like an hour!

My biggest thing that I am having a hard time with is...he has to hug a pillow while he sleeps. And of course he has to hug the biggest pillow! I swear, its like a third person in bed! Sometimes i get woken up because there is a giant pillow in my face! Its very hard to get used to.
