Re: ID
I think it might be more of a legal thing..your hall could get in alot of trouble for serving drinks to someone under 21 should anything happen. Do you expect to have alot of underage guests who want to drink? Or is it more of the annoyance factor of having to show i.d?

Re: ID
hate to say it, but you are underage, and the hall probably figures alot of guests will be too...You might find this to be a problem at alot of halls...The RH is just trying to protect themselves just in case anything happens.

Re: ID
i can see it being annoying if ppl get id'd everytime they go up for a drink...maybe they could do bracelets or something.
i am sure it stinks for the 18 year olds that wanna drink, but the hall has to cover their own a$$...they could get in major trouble and lose their liquor license if something happens.

Even if the parents say it's ok, its still against the law. It's the same if someone went with their parents to a bar. The bartender and owner could be held legally responsible- even if the parents said it was ok to drink.

Re: ID
no the bartender will not give a parent a drink for the underage person...they are underage!!!!! The hall has to abide by the law, they dont want to/cant lose their liquor license bc they served an 18 year old!!

Re: ID
They are really getting tough with underage drinking. I always bring my ID to a wedding just in case.

Re: ID
i agree with the other girls, the rh could get in a huge amount of trouble for serving underage people and if they lost their liquor license their business would suffer and even go out.

Re: ID
i never had to show ID at a wedding though.
maybe do something like the bracelets idea or a button or something so people dont need to keep taking their IDs to the bar.

Re: ID
i can see where u are coming from with your frustration. but the other girls are right. they can lose their liquor license and they get a real hefty fine for serving underage if they do so. even with an adult right next to a minor you cant do it. people try that all the time in my dad's liquor store and they cant get away with it.. like i said, serving or selling to a minor results in losing the license and having to pay a sh*t load of money in fines lol. you'll survive, there's no way to get around it
