Re: ID

I actually have been id at a wedding. it really depends on the clients/guest for the night. If they know there will be a lot of underage drinkers they ABSOLUTELY will ID. And if they see someone who is underage drinking they may sick the matrie de' (sp) on that person, and take away the drink and if they repeatedly find that person drinking they will ask them to leave. And if they catch many adults serving underage people they WILL close the bar entirely. Like the other girls said whether ne1 likes it or not it is a law and we cant change that.

so if a parent gets a drink for their child can the hall get in trouble and the hall doesnt know

yes, they probably could. and the parent could get in huge trouble, too. providing a;cohol to a minor...even if it's a parent is a big offense. Your family should understand this and not give you a hard time

I agree with ID. I went to a wedding and the bartender ID me. I think it's good. Sorry.

Re: ID

I get ID'ed at 34. All the time. it's the LAW. If my hall wants to ID my underage guests, go ahead... cause you know what?

It's a legal issue... if someone underage drinks at your wedding and gets alcohol poisoning or gets hurt... they can sue the hall, and if they get hurt bad enough and want more money they can sue you.

At 19, I can see how you think this is ridiculous... but everything is in place for the protection of the hall and for you. Suck it up, and be an adult.

maybe somehow you can turn this into a positive...or a not so obvious thing. well...there is always an after party!!! and all those under 21 can at least be the designated drivers to it, right?

Just have the parents get the drinks for the kids... what the hall doesnt know won't hurt them... Don't be surprised if they try to enforce it though...

i never had to show ID at a wedding though.

maybe do something like the bracelets idea or a button or something so people dont need to keep taking their IDs to the bar.

I did and omg me and my cousin got in sooo much trouble, he got me a drink and the bartender saw and we almost got kicked out of the hotel
