If I see 1 more RH, I am going to scream! Please help!

ugghhhhh

as some of you may know...FH & I have had a verrryyyy hard time finding an RH...we've prob seen at least 15

the hall is either not our taste or too expensive!

what do we do??? do we settle for something not our taste to save some $ or splurge and get the hall of our dreams?? p.s. we haven't found the hall of our dreams yet!

Here's what we saw so far

Land's End
Bourne Mansion
Vanderbilt Mansion
Three Village Inn
Royalton Mansion
Carlyle on the Green
North Ritz Club

Giorgio's
Rafael Vineyards

Top 2 places are
Royalton
Carlyle on the Green

but they are a lot of money

Giorgio's was nice...but not a fan of the carpet, love the outdoor area tho- we felt like Caryle was the perfect mix of the royalton and giorgios- simple and elegant ballroom of the royalton with the beautiful outdoor space of giorgios

the runner up would be North Ritz Club which is beautiful but after seeing royalton and carlyle, it feels like i'd be settling

going to prob disappoint myself and see Inn at NHP this weekend- but scared about their 175 minimum

here's our must have list...maybe you girls can help with other suggestions...

MUST BE ONE WEDDING AT A TIME- nooooo compromising on that

preferably, NO carpet!

pretty chandeliers but not gawdy

simple and elegant- no marble or crazy colors

MUST have nice grounds, outdoor ceremony and outdoor CH option

What about majestic gardens? My friend got married there and it is beautiful and the outside area is beautiful for an outside ceremony!! I also know that she got a really good deal there.

Majestic Gardens is a great suggestion! It can get a little pricy, but totally worth the look! How about the Thatched Cottage?

that was my problem, the hall of my dreams was inn at new hyde park, my runner up was north ritz club....i had to go for the cheaper one this way i can splurge on other things. I didnt quite feel like i was settling bc it had everything i wanted....

I just thought that I would love to live in a mansion but I have to buy a house that is affordable to me, but still nice

what if you change the time of year you want to get married to a more off-peak time? The halls you love might be more affordable then and you can get exactly what you want.....only thing is I know you mentioned about wanting the outdoor ch & ceremony...

the same thing happened to us - we fell in love with the woodlands and it was out of our budget for the months we wanted (sept/oct) so we moved it back a few months and we got the hall we loved! I wanted to take beautiful outdoor pix in gardens and have the nice outdoor CH too, but I figured that we could get married in sept (our ideal month) and it could rain and all of that goes away, so then the outdoor space started to lose some of its importance on our list of what we were looking for in our hall

Try the Watermill or Stonebridge country club. I Tim both meet your criteria. Both are in Smithtown.

i hope you are planning on a friday or sunday wedding cause the nhp inn on a sat night is like 225 min. i loved north ritz it was def my first choice.but i couldnt meet there sat min. i would probably try to talk carlye down.

new hyde park inn is really gorgeous however, I don't know if it will have enough outdoor space for your liking

Me too! It has outdoor cocktail hour/ceremony space, hardwood floor throughout ballroom, nice carpet in indoor cocktail hour space, very simple chandeliers, french doors along side of ballroom, high vaulted ceiling. ::sigh:: I love it there!! Overall, the whole RH is very simple and elegant. FM me with any questions! I have some pics in my album.

ETA: I didn't see the Royalton in person but thought that it was GORGEOUS from pics online. However, they were out of our price range so we didn't even bother going to see it.

I say Flowerfield as well. If we had a bigger budget I would have def booked there bc it is beautiful. My friend got married there last summer and it was so nice! Inside of the cocktail room there is a bridge and a koi fish pond and its a huge room. I believe they are 1 wedding at a time. Def check them out. There def comes a point where u need to just decide. i dragged my FH everywhere see the list below:

Woodbury Country Club
East Wind- Drove past
Lombardis On the Sound
Lombardis on the Bay

I just had to make a decision. My first love was def Lands End but they were very pricey I think anyways and the thing is if the weather is bad it ruins everything. You book there for the outside mostly. GOOD LUCK Hope you make a decision soon!!

I have been to a few weddings as well at I went to one at the North Ritz club and it was very pretty, The Bayview House at Captain Bills is nice but very simple, Crest Hollow, and I will be going to Watermill in April. Hope that helps!

Majestic Gardens isn't mostly non carpet. The only the dance floor is marble(not wood) But they do have some carpeting in the main reception room. That is the only place though. THey have a beautiful outdoor ceremony and beautiful grounds. They are only one wedding at a time and the food IS AMAAAAAAZING!! I loved the place but I needed a place that has good food and OMG it is delicious. They have soo many cool add ons too. At the showcase they has a brownie station which has fresh raspberries and strawberries cut up brownies and white chocolate, peanut butter and fudges sauces. I hate brownies but tasted it and I wanted to sneak in seconds lol. They have such an awesome choice menu soo many diff things. The bathrooms are big which I think is important lol I been to catering halls with like 3 stalls. The bridal room is soo pretty. The toilet and sink is hand painted lol. I spoke with John and he is great. I am not sure what price range you are looking for. I can give you the prices I got for the fall so you can kind of get an idea.

FH knows too many people that got married at majestic gardens, so he says no

i will take a look at your other suggestions..

mrshammer, i agree with you about lands end...that was our first choice for awhile...but if ur CH ends up being indoors then the entire ambiance of that place is ruined...and I didnt want to base my entire wedding on being outdoors...

partly why i love carlyle...their indoor ceremony room is gorgeous!

Old Field Ladies...what is their indoor ceremony option? and where is the dance floor in relation to the tables? FH must have dancefloor in middle of room

FH worked weddings for yearssss and he is VERY picky!
