ugghhhhh

as some of you may know...FH & I have had a verrryyyy hard time finding an RH...we've prob seen at least 15

the hall is either not our taste or too expensive!

what do we do??? do we settle for something not our taste to save some $ or splurge and get the hall of our dreams?? p.s. we haven't found the hall of our dreams yet!

Top 2 places are
Royalton
Carlyle on the Green

but they are a lot of money

Giorgio's was nice...but not a fan of the carpet, love the outdoor area tho- we felt like Caryle was the perfect mix of the royalton and giorgios- simple and elegant ballroom of the royalton with the beautiful outdoor space of giorgios

the runner up would be North Ritz Club which is beautiful but after seeing royalton and carlyle, it feels like i'd be settling

going to prob disappoint myself and see Inn at NHP this weekend- but scared about their 175 minimum

here's our must have list...maybe you girls can help with other suggestions...

MUST BE ONE WEDDING AT A TIME- nooooo compromising on that

preferably, NO carpet!

pretty chandeliers but not gawdy

simple and elegant- no marble or crazy colors

MUST have nice grounds, outdoor ceremony and outdoor CH option

Did you look at Villa Lombardis at all? I think most of the floor is marble and some carpet. They are more than one wedding which I know you said you didn't want but you may want to check it out, You never know!!

If you are considering anywhere outside of LI, I'd recommend the New York Botanical Garden... its really beautiful indoors and outdoors and they are known for their food. FM me if you need more info.

Check on the Carltun in Eisenhower park. The food is amazing and the interior is very beautiful and classy. There is also a nice outdoor area.

of course I am biased, but I totally recommend The Royalton!!!! I don't know what your budget is, so I can't speak to that, but I definitely think it is worthwhile if you can afford it. We're doing a Saturday daytime wedding, because we needed a lower guarantee number (125), and the per person price is less expensive too I think, but you still get all the same things that you would get otherwise. everyone there has been really pleasant and professional to work with. it's less than 3 months to my wedding, and i feel that everything is under control. i don't think you'll be disappointed!

i thought the carltun was more expensive than the Carlyle??

as for the royalton...we do love it there, it was our no 1 for a long time...then we saw the Carlyle and we are torn...their price is almost the same, with the royalton being a few dollars cheaper

still more than what I wanted to spend...FH wants to spend a lot more than I do!

THE LAMB THERE IS CRAZY GOOD

I second SC! DELICIOUS FOOD!! They also go around and ask guests whether they want seconds too.

MG is also very nice. I know Nov. is an off season for them.

How about Milleridge Inn. We priced there and got an amazing price for peak season. I just don't remember where the outdoor ceremony/CH would be- sorry!

I have been to two weddings there, and everything was great.

obviously I am partial to the North Ritz club........as soon as we walked in, we knew it was gorgeous and elegant and the 1 wedding on a time sold us! We can do whatever we want and decorate it anyway we want since it is all ours!!!

The outdoor CH and bar also sold us as well, and so did the garden areas for pictures.....

why not go back to the royalton/carlyle and explain to them that your very interested in booking but your budget is a bit smaller than the price they gave you... usually when you come back after seeing other places and your more serious about booking they work with you more

you should see floral terrace if pricing is an issue i would suggest maybe doing having yout wedding off season

i haven't seen the carlyle so i can't comment on that. we had my shower at the carltun, and i know their wedding prices are WAY higher than the royalton's!

look into sandcastle - 1 wedding at a time, no carpets, indoor and outdoor, pretty
... but remember for a place that does 1 wedding at a time you'll need a high minimum.

I looked at all 3 (carltun, carlyle, royalton) for a Saturday night in October, and I remember all the prices being roughly the same, give or take a few dollars.

However, I remember that the carltun had a lot of add ons that would make the price go up. Like a raw bar, sushi bar, etc - they were all an extra price per person charge.

Carltun was actually my 2nd choice after the PHCC. If you haven't had a chance to see the Carltun, you should take a look. it's beautiful inside, and the grounds are gorgeous.
