ugghhhhh

as some of you may know...FH & I have had a verrryyyy hard time finding an RH...we've prob seen at least 15

the hall is either not our taste or too expensive!

what do we do??? do we settle for something not our taste to save some $ or splurge and get the hall of our dreams?? p.s. we haven't found the hall of our dreams yet!

Here's what we saw so far

Woodbury CC
Smithtown Landing
Timberpoint CC
Bellport CC
Woodlands
Chateau La Mer
Riviera
Land's End
Bourne Mansion
Vanderbilt Mansion
Three Village Inn
Royalton Mansion
Carlyle on the Green
North Ritz Club
Hamlet Willow Creek
Hamlet Wind Watch
Giorgio's
Rafael Vineyards

Top 2 places are
Royalton
Carlyle on the Green

but they are a lot of money

Giorgio's was nice...but not a fan of the carpet, love the outdoor area tho- we felt like Caryle was the perfect mix of the royalton and giorgios- simple and elegant ballroom of the royalton with the beautiful outdoor space of giorgios

the runner up would be North Ritz Club which is beautiful but after seeing royalton and carlyle, it feels like i'd be settling

going to prob disappoint myself and see Inn at NHP this weekend- but scared about their 175 minimum

here's our must have list...maybe you girls can help with other suggestions...

MUST BE ONE WEDDING AT A TIME- nooooo compromising on that

preferably, NO carpet!

pretty chandeliers but not gawdy

simple and elegant- no marble or crazy colors

MUST have nice grounds, outdoor ceremony and outdoor CH option

look into sandcastle - 1 wedding at a time, no carpets, indoor and outdoor, pretty
... but remember for a place that does 1 wedding at a time you'll need a high minimum.

Yup. Since we had our date picked first, we had to compromise on the one wedding at a time thing... we just couldn't meet the guarantees for the places we wanted, and my date was important to me.
If you really love the Royalton/Carltun and it's on the expensive side of reasonable and not unreachable, I think you should try to make it work. You've seen so many places, you know what you like, and honestly, for what you're looking for, everythings going to be in the same price range, so I think you're driving yourself nuts for nothing. As for choosing between the two, if it's THAT difficult, consider more minor things like location vs where guests are coming from, where the sun will be when you have your ceremony, you know, details. We will def tell the RH we pick that the price is an issue and see what can they do for us

If that is what they told you then that is great!! I think ours is 185 for a Friday this June and we are going to be way over . . . ugh. We didnt think we'd meet it either.

Just wanted to comment on a few places recommended earlier..

Watermill DEF is not a 1 event at a time place. They have 2 rooms upstairs and 1 room downstairs.

Floral Terrace is carpeted and has no outdoor space.

The Inn at NHP also isn't a 1 event at a time place. I don't think they have 2 weddings at a time but they could have something else going on in another room. Surf club also has 2 events going on at once. umm.. yeah lol.

Thatched cottage is beautiful but might not fit the amount of people you want.

yup. And North Ritz. I LOVE the North Ritz and that was the only hall I considered having my wedding at that I've also worked at. BUT, if your having your ceremony there and it rains keep in mind that your now downstairs and totally lose the beautiful outside area.

Our reception was at Larkfield Manor. They have a large room and a smaller one that holds up to 120 on opposite sides of the building. So there is a possibility of 2 weddings but the layout is such that they'd be separated.
I think the grounds are lovely. I think they have combo carpet and tile but as you can see these are small details that you tend to forget. you remember the terrific food, the lovely flowers, gazebo and bride, the wonderful people to deal with, the way they go out of their way to make you feel special, throw in extras because they want to.

and the price was reasonable. the place isn't mentioned too often and it's a shame because it's a great place and we're glad we found it. pics in my album and slideshow in video lib if that might help you.

They do do more than 1 wedding at a time but they are in completely seperate buildings. They do a wonderful job and the food is excellent. My sister was married there 5 years ago. They have gorgeous grounds and you can have an outdoor ceremony/CH no matter what building you are in.

It is DEF worth checking out and it isn't ridic priced either

he literally refuses to get married there because of this

i looooooove the bourne...it was the only reception hall that i walked into and was like 'wow this is the one'

Check on the Carltun in Eisenhower park. The food is amazing and the interior is very beautiful and classy. There is also a nice outdoor area.
