If someone showed up to your wedding in white or cream.....

would you be upset? I hadn't thought about this untill FMIL called to let me know she told FH's cousin, she could wear the cream colored dress she bought for a sweet 16, to my wedding, and FHs cousins mom said no, she can't wear cream to a wedding, and FMIL told her Eleanor could care less . Well, I think i would care. I'm glad her mom said no. But that doesn't mean I will be the only one in white. I guess it's not a big deal, but I thnk it would annoy me!!

I never thought about it, but honestly, no one's going to be in a white WEDDING gown, and look as beautiful as you will....all eyes will be on you, dont worry :)

I'll be honest with you, people will gawk and probably comment amongst themselves as to how innappropriate it is. I wouldnt give it a second thought though. Nobody takes away from a bride.

Most people know better than to wear white or cream at a wedding. I would probably be mad for about a minute, and then realize that person either A) has no clue or B) is seeking attention. Either way, they wouldn't be worth another thought after that first moment.

someone wore a cream suit to my wedding - I didn't care. I did for a second but no one was paying attention to that anyway.

When I was 17, I was invited to my boyfriend's cousin's wedding.
It was two weeks after my prom, so I wore my prom dress which was a short, WHITE halter dress.
I honestly didn't know this was wrong. Someone told me at the reception and I appologized to the bride the next time I saw her.
She told me she was so happy on her wedding day, she couldn't have cared if I wore a bikini to her wedding.
So if someone did that on my wedding day, I wouldn't care.

I wouldn't worry about it. The focus won't be on her anyway. I wore a pale yellow gown to my future BIL's wedding last year.I didn't realize how light it was going to look in the pictures. Had I known, I would not have worn it.

This happened at my sister's wedding! Our cousin had a civil ceremony a few months before my sisters wedding and I guess because she felt deprived of her 'big' wedding she decided to wear the dress she wore to her ceremony to the reception! My sister was so busy that she didn't even notice but me and my other sisters were a bit upset with her. She was trying to steal her thunder!

i've always felt that it is inappropriate to wear white or ivory, etc to a wedding. it would def annoy me, but i wouldn't let it ruin my day.

I wore a cream colored dress with black print to one wedding, but I knew the bride wasn't wearing a traditional white dress. She wore a red mandarin style dress. If I hadn't know this, then I definitely would not have worn the cream dress. As is, I was worried about wearing a color dress because I didn't want to end up wearing the same color as the bride and take away from her!

My MOH has been married for 8 yrs now. At her wedding, the BM's wife wore a blue dress to the ceremony and changed into a white evening dress for the reception. My MOH said she wouldn't have cared had the girl not gone through the very obvious chore of changing just to get a reaction out of people. And she did get a reaction...a very negative one!

I don't think I'd care what color people wore.

Its defiantely inappropriate to wear white to a wedding, but if someone wore it to mine. I think I would be to pre occupied to even let it cross my mind!! No one can take away from the Bride.. unless they showed up in the same dress.. Scandalicous!!

I am against wearing white to a wedding. I didn't even want my FGs in white because I want to be the only one in white, but I agree I would probably be too preoccupied at my own wedding to even notice what anyone was wearing...although I'm sure someone would let me know about it after!
