If you are invited to a bridal shower...

and you cannot go, and you hardly know the person...
do you still send a gift?

I did.... but that was because it was a co-worker's fiancee's shower... I really don't know what the answer is in your scenario...

Yes i would send a gift......if u were invited to that shower and can't go, its still nice to send a gift to that person even if u dont know her to well, it will look bad ya know. JMO

i would send a token gift it doesnt have to be something expensive. if she is registered get one of the lower prices items or get her some photo albums or a bottle of champagne you can get a decent one for like 25 dollars and include 2 glasses if want. someone did that for me and i loved the idea because i brought it with me on my honeymoon with the glasses

I would send something small - The people I didn't know all sent me something for my shower the ONLY ones I didn't get a gift from where the people I KNOW VERY well OR FAMILY! Otherwise people either gave FMIL their gift to bring to the shower or they mailed it to me afterwards with a nice shower card

I don't think you HAVE to. Does your FH know the person well? Will it cause problems if you don't? Can you give a small gift that looks larger?

For me, it depends on who it is. If it were one of fi's cousins, who I don't know, I would send a gift. My own cousin got engaged, and I didn't know the girl, but I sent a gift because it was my cousin's fiance.

But, if it were a coworker that I don't really know or neighbor's kid that I really don't know, then I may not send a gift.
