If you could send your parents to any hotel in Manhattan...

Original post by Bunnymonkey

We are doing hotel/dinner Gift Certificates as parent gifts, and I am looking to get my parents into an awesome hotel for two nights.

Ideally, it would be the Four Seasons, but there is just nothing that can justify $550 for one night.

Any suggestions of a beautiful hotel to send them to? They are in their 50's - very sociable, fun, and outgoing.

Thanks!

We've stayed at the BP Ritz. It was nice but too out of the way. We sent my parents to one of the the W hotels and they weren't too crazy about it.

Essex House of course, where I am getting married. Its the best location and right near Bergdorf's, plus it has some of the best food in NYC.

I would have to say the Manderine Oriental in the new Time Warner Building.

Ditto! The Mandarin rocks!!

The St. regis is also nice - and they have butler service! There is also the new Dream Hotel which looks nice. I work for Starwood (Sheratons, W's, Essex House, St. Regis, Westin Times Square).

IMO - I honestly don't think the rooms at the Essex House are that great. If you do go to the Essex House, get one of the rooms in the St. Regis Club - it's the top florrs of the hotel. Cafe Botanica had a great brunch, but Alain Ducasse is a waste of money.
