If you do not know your pastor/priest well at all, then are you inviting him to the reception? We barely know our pastor and would feel almost weird if he was there.

Nope...we didn't invite our priest to the reception. He was wonderful, but we met him during the wedding process.

We did. He didn't come, but I felt as though we should invite him. By the time we were finished planning, we felt as though we knew him.

We're going to invite him. Actually haven't gotten one yet. But whoever it is, I'd like them to be there. I think it's a nice gestures, plus it'll help us meet our minimum!!

actually I was told by his wife (Judy the Bride's Best Friend) that they prefer not to be invited since she said nothing stifles conversation quicker than being seated next to a clergy person.

I think it's a nice gesture, but I think many times they're relieved not to be invited.

We are inviting our priest. We kinda feel obligated.. he can always decline.. We plan to sit him with our cousins who worked in his old parish.
