If you don't have a dad/are not close with your dad?

If you don't have a dad/are not close with your dad?

Are you doing the equivalent of a father daughter dance with someone else? with whom? If not, are you doing anything in its place?

My dad passed away 5yrs. ago this April. My son is going to walk me down the isle and dance with me to the father daughter song while the photo montage flashes pics of me and my dad when I was little.

My mom both walked me down the aisle and we did a mother-daughter dance.

My son is walking me down the aisle and I'll be doing a dance dedicated to all mothers and sons and one for fathers and daughters.

My brother is walking me down the aisle and I'm dancing with my Mom. We'll have a special memorance in the program for my Father. It's amazing to see how many of us are unfortunate enough to have lost a parent.

My father is not in my life anymore. I had my mom walk me down the aisle and i danced the father/daughter dance with my brother. I also made a point of doing the brother song early and not right after the mother/son dance.

My Father is 'around' in the sense that he lives in SC but I haven't spoken to him since November. Either way he made it very clear that he does not want & will not do a father daughter dance.

I'm a little worried that it may look funny that we're doing the mother/son dance (FMIL insists) and not the father /daughter dance but what can I do.

I think dancing with your sons is so nice!

I walked down the aisle alone and opted not to substitute the dance. I don't have any uncles I feel close with and didn't really want to dance with my mom. I did dedicate a song to my mom during dinner.

DH did do a dance with his mother and it wasn't strange at all.

My Brother-in-law (of 20 years) walked me down the aisle to where my Mom was sitting. She walked me the next few steps and lifted my veil. We didn't really do an official Mother/Daughter dance because she didn't want it to be too emotional. So, I had 'She's a Lady' dedicated to her and we ended up being the only two dancing to it. That is when she fell, shattered her shoulder and had to leave the reception. So much for not being too emotional

i am not close with my dad at all - we have a poor relationship but he did walk me down the aisle because i figured that was the best way not to draw attention to our poor relationship - although i did not do a father daughter dance at all. DH did a dance with his mom but it was really downplayed - I didnt announce the cake cutting so the dance wasnt as obvious that way.

I'm not close to my dad. I will walk down the aisle alone but we will (if he wants to) do the father/daughter dance the same time as FH will dance with his mom.

Yes with my brother instead.

I am very close with my Dad but he is disabled from a stroke. He walks very slowly and cautiously so he will not be walking me down the aisle. Honestly, at 34 years old I thought it looked weird anyway. He also absolutely cannot dance. I doubt I would have had a father/daughter dance anyway.

We are only doing our dance, the Hora, and the anniversary dance. That's enough for me.

My Mom ( actually my grandmother ) but raised me my entire life so she is the only 'mother' I have ever known. She is both walking me down the aisle and doing the mother daughter dance.

My dad is walking me down the aisle. We aren't the closest but will be doing a father/daughter dance. I am also going to dance with my uncle whom I am close with. I will probably do that dance at a seperate time from the father/daughter and mother/son dance.

Im not close to my dad at all. My uncle is walking me down the aisle and dancing with me. My father will be attending the wedding as a guest.

My dad out right refused to attend my wedding due to his own selffishness. We were never really that close anyway. So I'm having my mom and brother walk me down the isle and I am doing a dance with my mom.
