If You Had 50K For A Reception...

Original post by eden

Where would you have it?

My vote is for Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange NJ.

Absolutely Gorgeous Pllace, $300/head though. Ch-ching! :)

Reception only?

We're paying less than that, but I'd still go with Carlyle and do more upgrades..and not be stressing about the number of people we invited

And, I've been to a wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau...it was UNBELIEVABLE. That place is top notch.

If I'd had 50K for a reception, I would've gotten married in Disney World and flown the important people down there to be with me.

Or just stayed where I was and not have worried so darned much about money.

I'd have it at the same place - let FILs invite their currently uncut, too long guest list. I'd add chocolate fountain and viennese hour

Scarey as it is, $50k wouldn't even cover a $300pp wedding! If I had the money to just do whatever I want, I would do Oheka. It is just beautiful. Otherwise, fly all my family and friends to an amazing beach spot and cover all costs.

We saw over 30 halls so we would have it at the same place but a Saturday night in June or Saturday night in September and I would add a ton of the extras

Crystal Plaza in Livingston, NJ

We were qouted $450 per head on a Sunday, not including tax and tip.

One of the 'boys' from one of those 'boy bands' got married there. The BM showed us some of his wedding pictures. I was like 'who is that'

50,000 would cover 300.00 a head... for a small wedding.... Were paying 200.00 a head and have to guarentee 200 ppl. 40,000 just for dinner

personally I'd rather have it at a less fancy place and be able to invite as many people as I want than spend $300 a person to have it at a place like Oheka, which is a little over the top for me anyway.

The wedding will be beautiful no matter where it is held. It is the people you share it with that matter, not the gigantic mansion.

My friends reception at Oheka was $100,000 just for the food.

I would definitely have had it at the same place and taken the extra money and took an even longer HM to Tahiti! Love those over the water bungalos.
