to go to an event at your RH and you had never been to one there before, would you want to go?
I have the opportunity to go to an event at my RH 3 weeks before my wedding. I have never been to anything there so part of me feels like it would be a great opportunity to get to 'see them in action'. Then the other part of me thinks that it is too close to the wedding and it will somehow take away from the wedding because I will have just been there.
What would you do?
TIA
Edit: It's not for a wedding but a Bat Mitzvah

JMO, but I don't think I would go. I think it might confuse you to see other decorations or other food choices, etc...

Re: If you had the option...
This is a hard decision. On one hand you can see them in action and get a good feel for your RH. On the other hand, you may want to change things around once you see other decorations, etc. It may end up confusing you. I would probably still go though.

Re: If you had the option...
IMO I would want to go to see the place in action!
This way you can see how they work and get a nice feel for the space. And if you see anything you dont like you can make a note to make sure things dont happen on your day.
Like If I went to my place and saw that people were constantly asking for coffee with cake, I would say to my MaitreD that one thing thats important to me id coffe is served right away. I want to make sure people can get coffee with the cake right away.
Thats me. Whatever you decide is going to be fine.

Re: If you had the option...
I would totally want to go. I would want to see how the event was handled and how the food was. Then if there was something I didn't like I would talk to my BM to tell them my concerns. Also if there was something that I did like I could tell my BM that too. JMO

Re: If you had the option...
I see what you're saying but being there before hand might actually make you even more excited than you already are. Everything will go so fast on your wedding day, this could be like a mini preview of it. I dont know. It's an interesting decision.

Re: If you had the option...
I would go Bm and weddings are so different , and there will not be tons of 13 years old running around. I have worked in catering and weddings and Bar m are treated so differently, So go just remember your wedding will not be like the bar m. at all

Re: If you had the option...
One main reason I chose my RH was bc no one i know was ever married there. I have never been there and very few people invited to my wedding have ever been there either so I WOULD NOT GO.
I want the shock and awe of it all on my day

I would go. That way if you see anything that you like, you can make sure to request that its done...or if you dont like vice versa.

Re: If you had the option...
We will be attending a wedding in July of friends of ours who are getting married at the same place we chose (Fox Hollow) and I'm really looking forward to it. Not only because it's going to be a great time lol but because I think it will be the perfect opportunity for lots of mental notes. I don't see any harm in attending an event at the same place as your wedding. In fact it can help immensely in making sure that your day will even more perfect and more you!

Re: If you had the option...
I wouldn't let the location dissuade me from attending a family function.
I'd be excited about trying other foods and experiencing the place as a 'guest' rather than a 'host' which is how I still think of the wedding.

i agree with this....i dont think i'd go. God forbid something goes wrong that day you would be soo upset and worrying for the remainder of the time before your wedding.

I would go! But I see your confusion - but I think I would want to get a feel for it...
