If you have been to Mexico..

please tell me how common it is to get sick from the water or should I not worry?? Im 1 step away from booking HM but THIS is holding me back.

sorry, forgot to ask, also what about showering and brushing teeth?

I've been there half a dozen times, never been sick. I have also been to jamiaca, costa rica, panama, DR, PR, and many islands. . .never been sick.

I have been there and in restaurants and bars they automatically serve bottled water...they do not mess around with it like years ago...

ive been a few times and never got sick...i woke up in cancun so dehydrated from the night before that i drank the faucet water...lol.. i was fine. the girls i were with stuck to bottle water for everything though...

I've been to Mexico tons of times. (Cancun, Rivera Maya, Cabo)

I always drink the tap water & eat everything....ice, salads, even food from vendors off the street...

I have yet to get sick.

WHY? Because all the resorts and restaurants purify everything.

Do you know I was thinking the same thing. I was like maybe I should drink it the first day there so my body gets used to it and maybe I possibly wont get sick. I can become immune to it..

I went to Cancun in college in 1998 and we were all fine. I'm sure 9+ years later things have improved in the resorts since then.
