This all depends. If it is wine or something individually wrapped the edible is good with me.
Frames, candles -- no thanks.

I like useful house-stuff such as serving platters, cookie jars, oil and vinegar bottles, canisters....anything in a neutral color that I can use.

I agree. I appreciate the sentiment w/trinkets but even if it may be useful doesn't mean it's my taste. I won't keep something useful if I don't like it, or if it has the couple's name or photo on it. I love my friends but I don't want their name/photo on whatever it is that I may be keeping because then chances are even greater that I won't. I would much rather something I can eat. Then at least their effort isn't going to waste.

I'm the same way.
I was thinking about do wine bottles, with a small sample of some chocolate or something to compliment it.

Re: If you were a guest at a wedding...
Another thing, these days I even prefer a donation. I' d much rather the couple spend money on something worthwhile than on a trinket that some people may not even keep. I like seeing when I sit down that they chose to do a good thing w/their money. They don't need to waste it on me, I just want to have a good time at the wedding.

I guess edible. But honestly, I wouldn't even miss the favor if it wasn't given. I think its a waste of money...but of course I'll probably give favors out at my wedding because 'its the right thing to do!'

Re: If you were a guest at a wedding...
I LOVEEEE getting wine.
But thats just because of two things:
1. I love wine 2. We always go back to the hotel to party after the wedding is over - and we love having booz to bring with us to the party! but then again - thats just me =)
I also think those mini bottles of champagne are also cute!

Re: If you were a guest at a wedding...
I want to do a donation but FH doesnt want to!!!
I was going to do small loaves of pumpkin, banana bread, etc and on the tag have a donation.
Would it be bad to donate to an animal shelter when there are so many human causes in need?
