I don't think I could move to any other state. Maybe VA because my closest girl friend lives there? If I were to leave NY it would be to move to England. I would love to live in England.

Yay to everyone who said the DC area! That's where I live now and I LOVE it here in VA, right outside of DC. Anyone who is ever thinking of exploring this area, let me know, I'd be happy to show you around!
PS to Sandy&Ben...are you here in NoVA now or still a few hrs. south??

I love NY and don't think I would ever leave (at lease full time). I would choose Florida for the winters b/c it's warmer and still close enough to come home for all the family functions.

Realistic place- either PA or somewhere in New England. when we buy, it won't be in NY
I CANNOT WAIT to move!!! I hate it here...
My sentiments exactly! I love snow, so I definitely want to live someplace that has a nice change of seasons. My ultimate dream would be to move to New Hope, PA. Can't wait to get the heck outta LI.
Eventually we'll retire to Napa, though!!

Ct or New England States. Its so pretty there and not as congested.
I moved out of NY with my DH (FI at the time) almost 4.5 years ago. We live in North Carolina. It's absolutely beautiful here. Once you leave NY, you will never want to come back. At least for us!

For me it would be Florida. I am familiar with Florida since my brother lives there. There seems to be alot to do there where they are and alot of young families. They love it there.

San Fran.. not IN the city..but in the outskirts on the other side of the hills.... ..
It's my goal to get there before Im 50.
Otherwise I'd go home.. Texas. Austin area.. very hilly and green.

We are thinking of going to Maryland. It is pretty much a sure thing. Some of my best friends are there as well as my some of my family. We like the Silver Spring, Rockville, Columbia areas.

We are in VA and totally love it. You can't drag me back to New York City.

Re: If You Were Going To Move Out of NY....
Already did - FH and I live in Northern VA but we don't like it. People aren't that friendly, traffic sux, and D.C. is boring (just our opinion).
We're torn over where to move to; he would love to move home to Alabama or to Atlanta but it's WAAAAAY too hot for me there. (He likes the heat).
I would love to move to New England but he hates snow.
We thought maybe San Diego would be a good compromise - it's warm there but you're not far from places where there's snow.
