Personally, only one or two million...i'd pay off my loans and the loan for a friend, buy fh and me new cars, a nice house, nothing crazy, take family on a vacation, donate some and sock some away...but i'd keep working. but it would be nice to just live and not worry about the mortgage or loans...ahhh, to dream.

I think $4-5 million would be more than sufficent to live comfortably forever (including immediate family members who I would share with ...)

I say $5Million.. after taxes. $1Million isn't a lot nowadays on LI especially if you are talking about buying nice houses.

You are right ... it is never enough ...
FH runs the nmbers all the time and if you can have X amount (say $5 million) and you use $1 million to spend on yourself, family and friends the first year ... now you have $4 million ... you can comfortably live off the interest while never touching the principle ... FH dreams about this

At least 10 million after taxes. I want to be able to give my parents and Danielle's parents enough money so they can live comfortably, and also my brother and sisters and danielle's brother and sisters. The rest of the money, I will invest, use for some vacations, buy two nice cars and a big Victorian...For Danielle and I to live in.

I say $-5 mill after taxes. I just want to by an apartment in the city, pay off my loans, go shopping and on a kick *** vacation. Send my mom on a kick *** vacation. Go SHOPPING!!! but i am not a craxy spender. No matter how much $ I have, I couldn't spend more than $300 on a pair of shoes. I would definitely keep working, but could live with taking a month of two off.
Ahhh... to dream.

Your absolutely right, but we are marrying the ones we love! That makes me really happy! I'm pretty happy already. Money just makes things easier. Aside from wedding stuff, 95% of all my stress is $ related. Can you imagine eliminating that?

$3 - 4 m (after taxes) Use 1/2 right away to buy property before the market spikes again, and to buy a business for DH. The rest I would put in High-Yield Bonds & other investments & roll the principle & live off the interest. If you find the right investment, $1m can make $150,000/yr in interest.

Two Million would be enough for me. Enough to buy myself a house... and my parents a house. I would still plan on working anyways... so once the house is paid off... we would be good.

I would want to buy my parents a house outside of Vegas and about 3 for me and FI with enough land for 2 horses and tons of rescued dogs.
Oh I guess a purple corvette for me wouldnt hurt either.
I guess about 7 million after taxes.

Call me greedy but I want 20million after taxes. I want land lots of land under stary skys above. I want DD and #2 to have anything their little hearts could dream of. I NEVER want to worry about college or any other payments. I want to travel. I want DH to get back surgery at the best hospitals... And I want to do a little shopping for myself.
