If your FILs weren't....

helping to pay for anything other than the rehearsal dinner (and they want to chinch on that...) would you still get them a parents album from your photographer or would you add more pages to your album and your parents (who are paying for everything) album?

personally i definitely would, its their son's wedding and I think its a very nice gesture to get the parents album for them. if you dont want to pay for it i would at least ask them if they want a parents album and tell them how much it will be.

I'm giving the my FMIL a disk with our pictures and a scrap book. I say let her go to town on that. It'll give her something to do and an excuse to spend money.

FH & I are paying for EVERYTHING 100%.
Not my parents or his parents are paying a penny towards the wedding....with that said...I WOULD NEVER EVER THINK OF NOT GETTING THEM A PARENTS ALBUM...EITHER OF THEM.

You girls are right..... I already signed a contract for 2 parents albums and 2 DVD's without even mentioning it to them but I'm just so ANNOYED with them today that I woke up this morning and out of spite wanted to change the contract. You would think I was PMSing...

I am paying for my entire wedding. I am going to give albums to my Mom and FH's parent's as a gift - because I want to. I don't wait until I recieve a gift to give one. JMO

oh my mom offered to pay for my dress. can't forget that, it is really generous.

I think this is a personal thing. If she doesn't feel close to her FIL's and he doesn't feel close his parents, then the album is optional. I don't even think I'm giving my parents an album. I'll give them picutes, they can do what they want with them.

frustration completely understood! I would gt them a parent album anyway...its their son and they will want it... even if you take the proofs/cd make copies and do your own, it will cost less but they will still have one...

You're right. I guess my FMILs 'bunny mcdoogal' behavior has gotten on my last nerve!!

Yes, I'd give it to them anyway. If you want you could give it as a holiday gift ...

My FILs are covering half the cost of our RD and that's it. They can afford to cover the whole thing, and while I am not saying they are 100% obliged to, they are very traditional and I thought that even if they didn't contribute to the cost of the wedding itself, they'd at least do this since financially they are able. To boot, they just moved to Russia for 2 years after we got engaged. Needless to say, they are not so involved in the planning. There have been other issues that I am not going to take over your post going into. Bottom line is that I am still giving them an album! They will appreciate it.

They contributed far less than we did or my parents, but that's not the point. It's their son..they should have the memories of his wedding too. Get them both albums.

Is your FMIL one of those house wives with too much time on their hands (like mine?) If so just give her so proofs and a scrap book. Tell her she can make the album the way she wants. I know mine will love it!
