If you're invited to someone's apt for the first time...

do you automatically bring a gift?

My best friend is having a dinner party and she was actually kind enouh to invite two of my friends in addition to me and FH. I'm going to bring a zucchini pie, but I was wondering, should I bring anything else to congratualte her on her new apt? What should I bring? I can't really afford much, so I don't know!

how long has she actually been living in the apartment?

If she's been there for a while, I wouldn't bring a 'GIFT'. Go with a bottle of wine or champagne.

I would. for people who are engaged, married, or recently married, I buy some small kitchen items from their registry.

for everyone else, I bring a bottle of booze and a card

I would bring some kind of housewarming gift. Maybe a nice hanging plant, a big bo-k of flowers or a home depot gift certificate.

PLant/ wine/ champagne/ small registry gift (all stated above) but i think are good ideas and wont break the bank either

She told em not to rbing wine b/c she's getting a lot form a cheap lace she knows, plsu my friend is also bringing wine, but I like the candle idea. I see adorable candles at work every day and I've been dying to buy one for somsone !

I would bring something home related. It may not be labeled as a house warming, but she is having a more 'formal' dinner get together at her place. I probably would get something even a small $30 dollar gift card for target/BBB/Crate & Barrel, might be nice.
But it's whatever you can do, Burlington has a nice home selection where they have vases or home accents for cheap.
