Get them! even if you only do them on every other table, IMO, it’s worth it.
I just picked up the table camera pictures from being developed and yes, there are some bad ones, blurry ones too, but there are a lot of really great pics in there! So glad we did it!

Re: If you're on the fence about table cameras
i know some people like this--but for me after seeing the pics a friend got from her wedding--i am no longer on the fence. i just didn't like it. for the $$ she spent on the cameras and the development of the pics....the ones that she got back were just plain horrible. too many drunk people taking pics of each other!!

I didn't do it either. It depends on the guest really. Some people get great shots. Some guests never use the cameras.

I am definitely going to do it because I figure even if I get only a few pics that the photographer didn't capture or of my friends having fun it will be worth it.

I only had 8 table cameras. I spent $80 between buying the cameras and getting them all developed. in the grand total of what a wedding costs, it's peanuts.

I didn't want to have them b/c I remembered the table camera pics at my bat mitzvah coming out terrible. My mom got them anyway for the wedding and I'm glad she did. The pics turned out great.

Re: If you're on the fence about table cameras
we did it... and i still can't say either way what i would reccomend. we got a couple great shots- like one of my uncle ( the flower girls dad) lifting her up while they were dancing and they're both laughing, and one of me talking with my grandmom ( whos now in a nursing home) but a lot of them were blurry and dark... and FIL went around taking pics of peoples feet while they were dancing, which i could live without.... so, it can go either way... if you think its worth some extra money for a few good shots, and if you're a picture freak like me- do it... but i wouldn't say you're missnig out on anything if you don't do it....

I'm glad I did it. Better to have more memories. Some of our pics were just ok, dark, too far away, but most were really great and they were shots of things and people that the photographer didn't get.

I must admit that I have gotten a bit tipsy and silly with table cameras in the past...
I'm afraid karma will catch up with me if I do this - somewhere people have pictures of other people's feet, big butts, and my boobs...
Told you guys - karma karma karma...

another thing to keep in mind - watch out if you have kids at the wedding. If you do, theres a very good chance they will be more than willing to 'help' make sure all the pictures are used up on the cameras.
My two little cousins (12 and 9) ran around taking pictures of pretty much EVERYTHING.... peoples feet... the ceiling... the ham they got for dinner... up someones nose... you name it, we have a picture of it. :?
We did get a few nice shots of guests that our photographer may have missed, but I'd say it was only about 20% of the pictures (I had a camera on each table) turned out well/of stuff we wanted.

Re: If you're on the fence about table cameras
I definitely want to do this - like somebody said already, in the grand scheme of wedding planning, cameras and developing would hardly make a dent.
My feeling is that if you're looking for nice, well-posed, pretty shots of your guests, this probably won't work for you, but if you want some fun, goofy memories, this is where you'll get them.
I'm making myself a scrapbook of the whole wedding planning process, and I want the table cameras so that I can put the pictures in my scrapbook. I want those kinds of crazy random pictures for the scrapbook, because I'll have all of the nice, professional photos in our professional album.

Re: If you're on the fence about table cameras
I still really want to do this - I love pictures kids take b/c I love to see the world through their eyes - what they think is important! If in the end I don't get a camera for every table I am definetly getting one for FBIL (now ten) - when he was 5 or 6 he took pictures os FH and I going to prom and they are my favorite pics of us - he took pictures at FCIL wedding and they came out better than the professionals!! Kids are very detail oriented and i love to see the pics they take!!
Does anyone have suggestions on were to buy the disposable cameras at a good price - the wedding ones i think are overpriced, I've been looking for a kodak or fuji sale.

I wasn't planning on doing this but I may ask 3 or 4 people to take some pictures for us with disposable cameras. I will ask reliable people to do this.

Do you think it would work if I did one for each table?

I already told my little brother he is not allowed to have a camera at my wedding. He is 13 and will be 14 at the wedding, he is a little devil! I don't want to think what he would do with a camera at my wedding. I just have a feeling I'm not going to like it.

Re: If you're on the fence about table cameras
I got mine from the knot when they were having a sale... They came in sets of 5 for 25$, and lazer engraved with our names & date, and the camera was lavender (our main colour) and with an easy to operate flash. They were actually quite nice looking on the tables, and the developer made sure to save one for us as a keepsake.
Also, in the grand 'price' scheme of things, you'll most likely get more than enough $ in gifts to cover development since its after the fact.
