For some reason I am hearing 'clap your hands' right now in my head

So, we are $1,788.31 over budget (assuming we book a vendor that is $500 over the budget).

Anyone else going over

How can you logically set a budget if you don't know how much stuff costs?

When you get engaged unless you have done this before, you can't possible know.

Most newly engaged couples go into sticker shock when they go check out venues and then they realize whatever budget they set is unrealistic.

It's the chicken/egg syndrome. You set a budget, then find out how much stuff costs, then re-set the budget.

I totally agree. We set a budget and then wound up ~$10,000 over that. It was unrealistic for what we wanted. It's CRAZY!! how much we are spending on the wedding that I don't want to look at the bank account. I just keep thinking of everything else we could be doing with the money!! I know it will be work it in the end though

Ha, let's say my budget has nearly doubled When I initially made the budget I had no idea of the prices out there. I figured 1000 was enough for a photographer, boy was a wrong!

Budget? What's a budget?

I've not gathered all of our expenses and tallied them up at all!!!! It is what it is! We are having the wedding of a lifetime but get the best bang for our buck that we can and I know that when it's all added together... we will be on the low end of LI wedding costs!

One day I'll add it all up!!!
