If you're torn between two dresses....

If you're torn between two dresses....

does that mean both of them aren't the one?

I cannot believe how confused I am. I tried on Maggie Sottero's Monterey....and was like, wow, I don't want to take this off. I love it. This could be it. Mom cried, my sister said she'd be mad at me if I didn't get it. As much as I loved it, I knew I still should try on the other one I was eyeing - Samara Lynette.

Bad idea. For one thing, these dresses couldn't be any more different. Monterey is very simple and elegant. Samara has simple detailing, but is much more grand and showy with its long train and fuller skirt. When I tried on Samara, I thought...okay I feel like I'm in a costume. I sort of felt ridiculous- yet I thought it was the most exquisite gown I've ever seen. I kept comparing it to Monterey. My family went nuts over it. But all agreed, Monterey was still beautiful. Yet, Samara was truly a knockout.

I go back and try on Monterey today. How do you think I feel now? More confused! Suddenly Monterey seems disappointing- yet it is still sooooo beautiful and so elegant and sophisticated. And I would be MUCH more comfortable in this gown all night.

But Samara would be awesome going down a 120 ft. aisle...

This would be easier if both gowns were in the same shop! AAHHH!

HELP!!!!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....

I WAS constantly thinking about Monterey...and now today, it's not so special. Now all of a sudden, I think Samara is.

And....I tried Samara in Ivory with blush.....wow, it was just beautiful. But I never wanted an ivory gown. Aye yi yi, I'm a pain in the buttocks.

IMO if you want to make a 'THE BRIDE HAS ARRIVED' statement, then #2 would be the one. Not sure which is which.

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....

Monterey is 1, Samara is 2.

The funny thing is, when I tried on Samara, I thought it was too much of a 'bride has arrived' thing. I felt like I was in a costume.

Then I went back to Monterey, and felt it wasn't enough. ARRGG!

hmmmmm then maybe maybe maybe neither one is 'the one' perhaps you should try something in between....

I'm a big help, eh?

They both are gorgeous!!! It does sound like you actually adore Samara better
They are both really beautiful gowns though. You do have a tough one there!!! Maybe you should go back and try both dresses on with the veil and head piece to see which one you like better!!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....

Well...Monterey needed a little extra grandeur (oooooh 50 cent word there! ) so we figured a cathedral veil would work...

We tried Samara with the...oh darnit what did they call it- that certain cut of veil...sweetheart? No....I can't remember!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....

I know...it's crazy, it's not over the top at all! It's very simple...but grander than I normally would go for. That's why I'm so confused!! I tried on all different kinds of fuller styles the day I tried on Monterey, and I knew Monterey was the way I had to go....

then I tried on Samara and it took awhile but the gorgeousness of the gown grew on me. I just wasn't sure of its fullness. So heavy for a big August day! And getting out of the boat too! hahaha! I know I could dance the day away in Monterey.

Aye yi yi!

go with your gut, or you'll end up like me 7.5 months away and still can't decide on a dress.
