I cannot believe how confused I am. I tried on Maggie Sottero's Monterey....and was like, wow, I don't want to take this off. I love it. This could be it. Mom cried, my sister said she'd be mad at me if I didn't get it. As much as I loved it, I knew I still should try on the other one I was eyeing - Samara Lynette.
Bad idea. For one thing, these dresses couldn't be any more different. Monterey is very simple and elegant. Samara has simple detailing, but is much more grand and showy with its long train and fuller skirt. When I tried on Samara, I thought...okay I feel like I'm in a costume. I sort of felt ridiculous- yet I thought it was the most exquisite gown I've ever seen. I kept comparing it to Monterey. My family went nuts over it. But all agreed, Monterey was still beautiful. Yet, Samara was truly a knockout.
I go back and try on Monterey today. How do you think I feel now? More confused! Suddenly Monterey seems disappointing- yet it is still sooooo beautiful and so elegant and sophisticated. And I would be MUCH more comfortable in this gown all night.
But Samara would be awesome going down a 120 ft. aisle...
This would be easier if both gowns were in the same shop! AAHHH!
HELP!!!!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
And if I get Samara...there's the issue of- WHICH COLOR?!?!
My family loved the ivory gown with blush accents....but I always wanted white.
They have all white...but I tried Monterey in all white and in diamond white and much prefered diamond.
If I get diamond white in Samara...it comes with pewter accents- ugh! Do I want that?

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
i had the same problem so i did a poll on here. . . HA HA I dont remember which dress won! i will have to search for it. . . here is my suggestion
take pictures of yourself in both dresses (if they let you) with a veil on and everything. . . go home and look at them. . . that should help
i picked out this dress that i LOVED on here - however, every time i saw it in a regular picture ( like not on the website) i hated the way it 'layed' when the bride wasnt perfectly standing straight. . .so that helped me get rid of that third choice - still stuck on two though!
good luck!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
I shoulda brought a camera- but I doubt they would have let me. I suppose I could always explain my predicament, and say if I like the other one and they don't have it, I'll still order it through them.

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
What if I tried this one on? I think this is more in the middle of the two- not as full as Samara, but not as slim as Monterey, with a little more going on....This is called Phuong.

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
Reading how torn you are between both dresses I recommend trying on more dresses. You might surprise yourself and find another one that has you completely sold. The dress you just posted, Phuong, is a nice pick as it embodies elements of both dresses. Best of luck to you!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
i would try on more. every style. the girl at the shop pulled my dress of the rack and I said 'oh i guess I'll try it on'
and it ended up being the one - when I put it on in the dressing room and looked in the mirror my face lit up! then when I walked out everyone said that was the one. and then every dress I put on afterwards I said 'i like the other one better'
thats how i knew it was the one!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
Hahaha! See but when I first tried on Monterey, I kept saying I liked it better than the rest....then tried on Samara and said I thought it was too much for me and kept comparing it to Monterey...then I went and tried on Monterey and was even MORE confused.
I guess it's back to the drawing board. I just hope someone has Phuong somewhere!

Girl, you are cracking me up!
Is it just me or does that models held look way to large for her body?
I say keep looking..I think when you find the one there will be no question!

Do you still like Monterey the best? I know you'd like that the most as it's the most non-typical wedding gown. What do you think of Phuong? I feel like it's in the middle of the two- not too slim, not too full.

I like monterey the best! I think it's elegant and sophisticated and still has the more bridal look you were going for
Wait! Which one is that?!

Re: If you're torn between two dresses....
Monterey is the first one, Samara the second, Phuong the third.
