If you're torn between two dresses....

Original post by GettinHutched

does that mean both of them aren't the one?

I cannot believe how confused I am. I tried on Maggie Sottero's Monterey....and was like, wow, I don't want to take this off. I love it. This could be it. Mom cried, my sister said she'd be mad at me if I didn't get it. As much as I loved it, I knew I still should try on the other one I was eyeing - Samara Lynette.

Bad idea. For one thing, these dresses couldn't be any more different. Monterey is very simple and elegant. Samara has simple detailing, but is much more grand and showy with its long train and fuller skirt. When I tried on Samara, I thought...okay I feel like I'm in a costume. I sort of felt ridiculous- yet I thought it was the most exquisite gown I've ever seen. I kept comparing it to Monterey. My family went nuts over it. But all agreed, Monterey was still beautiful. Yet, Samara was truly a knockout.

I go back and try on Monterey today. How do you think I feel now? More confused! Suddenly Monterey seems disappointing- yet it is still sooooo beautiful and so elegant and sophisticated. And I would be MUCH more comfortable in this gown all night.

But Samara would be awesome going down a 120 ft. aisle...

This would be easier if both gowns were in the same shop! AAHHH!

HELP!!!!

I like the 1st and 2nd ones best..in all honesty..not feeling the 3rd one so much..

But you know as well as I do that what ever you pick is going to look awesome!! Are you going anywhere else to try stuff on? How about the one at RK Bridal? Not feelign that one anymore?

I would probably lay off the dress thinking, dress hunting for a few days, & then go back and try them on again to see how you feel about them then. You have time so there is no real rush. I was in a predicament a few weeks and I also did a poll. I got great comments. As it turns out, the loser here turned out to be the winner because that is the one I ordered. But you do get great feedback.

Try on more dresses as well in a couple days.

Good luck with your shopping.

BTW: I think it's hilarious that we are having a discussion on a public forum!

You're sooo right- I need to stop obsessing and just give it up for a few days. Lordy. It's so bad that it consumed me like this! Sooo stupid of me.

Okay- I'm breathing now and I'll be waiting a few days and will just completely take it off my mind. Thanks!!!

It doesn't mean that you won't dream about it like I did.

I'll probably wake up screaming in the night- I wake up screaming or freaking out about something at least twice a week. The other night, FH said I was looking for my 'kids' (my students, obviously). A week before that, I thought something was crawling in the bed. Okay, someone is stressed!!!

Maybe I'll have a good dream- it'll be my wedding, and I'll see the dress I have on- and that's the one!
