I'm a big fat dope.

I went to a Kosher deli and order pastrami on rye with butter. When they told me no, I asked for a reuben with swiss cheese. They told me no.

No alarm bells went off in my head when I asked for butter. There should be a trap door in my mouth to prevent me from saying more stupid things.

Kosher - you cannot mix meat & dairy....and you cannot eat certain meats I think???

someone told me that years ago, that dairy wasnt paturized right, and people were getting very sick. hence why no one mixed meat and dairy, and for some reason it stuck in the jewish religion...not sure of the reason why.
but now a days, its very safe to eat dairy and meat together.

yeah your not allowed to mix meat and dairy. They can't be in the same refrigorator or even on the same table. and even they can't be placed on the same plates. you have to have seprate plates for dairy and for meat.

My friend did that the other day only she asked for bacon, egg and chesse all on the same roll!!! BACON!!They weren't so nice to her

I did that when i went to a oceanside deli IoI I yelled at them ***... you wont server me?? Then I looked at them and realized where i was and laughed.

yeah back in the day i worked in a bagel boss, this was all new to me at the time...but u have no idea how many people came in asking for pastrami sandwiches (bagel boss is kosher dairy)

they do have fish though, fish is considered dairy, so bagel boss actually has the best tuna salad i have ever tried!
