Can I just say I'm mad. I have always wanted a red velvet wedding cake - OK for the past year I've wanted one and my mom is making a big deal about it saying people do not like that and our family will expect a cake with fruit filling. I hate that no offense to the rest of the world that likes it. We meet about the cake tomorrow and I'm also not allowed to have fondant - NOBODY LIKES FONDANT as mom says. Wah wah wah. I want it my way.

Get the cake you want!!!! It's your wedding! I left FH pick the cake for us because he really wanted what he wanted and I am totally fine with it...so if people don't like chocolate....SORRY!!!

I used Blackforest and they can probably do the top layer that you freeze and save for your 1 year in the red velvet and then do the other layers in fruit filling. We did an oreo filling in one layer and choc. in the other.

Get the cake you want! No matter what decision you make, not everyone is going to like it. I bet there are more people than she thinks that love red velvet!

Well I won! We are having 4 tier cake, square (didn't know square was $50 extra), FONDANT!!! and two top tiers red velvet, then yellow cake with strawberry (Mom's choice), chocolate with cookies and cream filling (my choice). I'm so excited! FONDANT! Ha ha! I love it!
