Im a little sad!!!

Im a little sad!!!

So all of my bridesmaids have children. My best friend just had a baby 9 weeks ago. I went out to dinner with her and another friend and the entire conversation was about the babies and kids. I tried to tell them that I booked the limos and that we were going in an Escalade to tried and steer the conversation a little. My BF said to my other friend 'oh what are you going to do that night with your baby' They it went right back to baby talk.

I know this sounds selfish, but I really feel like I have no one to be excited about the wedding with. For all of my friends weddings ALL WE TALKED ABOUT was their weddings. I know everyone's in very different places now but I feel like im getting the short end of the stick. I can't bring this up to anyone b/c they will all feel bad and I don't want to hurt them. I know my BF having a baby is bigger than my wedding. But just needed to vent a little.

Im going for my hair and make up trial with Mia today and I have to go alone because no one can make it b/c of the kids. That's when this all hit me really.

I know there's nothing I can do about it. It just s*cks!!!!

thanks for listening girls.

Re: Im a little sad.

How about your mom? will she go with you? That's tough!!! I know exactly what you mean. I haven't come to that point in my life cause I am one of the first of my friends to get married, but I can see how that would happen. It's ok to be sad about it, but try your best to be excited. I don't think it would be bad if you told your BF how you feel. I mean say it tactfully but maybe say that you feel that she isn't excited for you. Say that you did stuff with her for her wedding and you were hoping she'd do the same for you....tell her to bring the kid! My friend got married and her sister was the MOH.....she has a kid and i was the one that planned her bachelorette and other things cause her sister was preoccupied...when my friend was MOH in her sisters wedding she did everything too...I told my mom when it comes time for my sisters wedding to remind me that no matter where I am in life to tell me to do the same for her as she did for me....I think it's totally fair to bring it up to her...

i know how you feel, i had to shop for my gown alone, my daddy was sick and my mom had to be w/ him, wich i totally understand, but my sisters were to busy, and so was the rest of my bp, so i did it alone. i am not sure i even picked the right dress.

your wedding is just as important and exciting dont feel that way- you nailed it everyone is in different places right now and I am sure they do not mean it intentionally but it still hurts a bit- as the day gets closer I bet your friends will show how excited they are it probably hasn't hit them as much just think on the bright side soon you will be in the same category with them having babies and starting your own family

Thanks girls! I so appreciate all of your kind comments. It's nice to come on here and just chat and no one's going to say 'enough with the wedding talk'

I appreciate it.

Re: Im a little sad.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Why not try calling your friend and telling her how important it is that she stop by while you are getting your hair done even if it's a few minutes. I was in my friends BP and no one went with her for her hair trial...so when i heard that I went over closer to the end so that I could give her my opinion. I don't think that's too much to ask of anyone.

I brought it up last night about my trial hair and makeup and that i'd be going alone. She said that she wished she could go but her husband would't be home to watch the baby and she didn't want to take the baby out to a hair salon. (for some reason)

Unfortunately they can't do that. They all live far apart and schedules are difficult.

I totally understand, somewhat, but I feel like my BF should just take the baby with her but as my grandmother always says... 'What can you do?' ::sigh::

I know I'll just have to deal with it but it would've been nice to NOT have to deal with it.

Wow what a sucky situation. I guess like everything else we won't know how we would act in the same situation with a baby yet....But she should know how she acted as a bride and give you the same courtesy. I understand where she is coming from....but i totally understand where you are. This is a great spot to vent about it!

It definitely is a great place to vent!! Thanks.

I think every bride during their planning wants to feel like.. it's their time!!!! It's the happiest time in our lives at this point and you want to share it with all of your closests friends and when their lives are just too busy and hectic..that can't happen.

Sorry to hear you're going through this! Your friend having a baby is important, but I wouldn't say it's more or less important than your wedding... it's just two different things. Maybe you can talk to her about it... maybe she's so engrossed in the baby that she doesn't even realize. If not.. you always have us!!!

Re: Im a little sad!!!

I TOTALLY understand. I am going to get ready probably by myself b/c every person in my bridal party has children that they need to take care of that day. And like you, most of the time, I'm fine with it, but every once in a while, I think, but I gave them the attention they deserved for their weddings.

I totally feel your pain! I'm pretty much in the same situation. I have 5 bridesmaids, to which my MOH lives in another state, so isn't here for most of the wedding planning, my other 2 BM's have children, another BM is a newly wed, so she's tending to her new wed life, and my last BM is the only one who's really been helping me out as much as she can, but I feel as if i put too much pressure on her.
I get like that as well, but then I realize that this is MY wedding and that i wasn't going to allow anyone to make me depressed during my wedding planning process. I know how you feel, and when I get that way, i just suck it up and start doing something fun regarding the wedding. I hope eventually the feelings will pass, but for now..you have the liweddings girls to chat wedding talks with you all you want! =)
I'm sure as your wedding time comes sooner, you'll see more attention. Hope you feel better

Yea it's a good thing for this website! You can talk about wedding wedding wedding and we're all so excited about it. It ***** sometimes that as people move on in their lives they forget that other people they care about are going through great experiences that they need their friends around for. Maybe talk to your BF and let her know that you feel kind of alone in the whole planning process. Babies and stuff are a big deal but YOUR wedding is a HUGE deal. They should be there for you and listen to every minor little detail just like you do for them.
Talk to them...I'm sure it'll only help the way you're feeling!
