I'm a little ticked...[mini rant]

I just got home from ewickens' wedding [fabulous!!!!] and received an invitation from a firend of DH's to her wedding.

It was actually addressed to the both of us....but not as a married couple!

I just wanted to get it out now that I'm a bit insulted that as a married woman, I was invited to a wedding like that!

I have no desire to go.

do you think maybe they had them addressed before your wedding... or maybe had you originally on their list with your previous names??

i know we recently sent out thank you cards and i wrote one thank you card out to a couple who were enganged... i had it all addressed and everything... well i procrastinated on the rest of the thank yous and finally put them in the mail at the end of the summer... well after i mailed them i remembered that i had addressed them with his name and her maiden name... not the new married name...i didnt do it on purpose... i just had written it out so long ago that i forgot!

i hope that makes sense!

How frustrating!!! Although, to FH's cousin that lives in Florida, that I have yet to meet, we did that. Nobody knew their new last name.

Maybe she did the guest list before you guys were married and someone besides her, like her parents, handled the invites and she forgot to update the list before they were addressed? It was probably just an oversight.

I was on there separately as if we wre still dating. Annoying as can be. They didn't attend our wedding but know we are married. Very frustrating. Just puts a very SOUR taste in my mouth!

I would feel the same way. I think that even if you do the guest list way in advance, come wedding time you shoudl do a quick update!!! I understand there are oversights, but it's still exciting to get things with your new married name on it

Well, from my point of view, I'd be glad that they did not assume that I was changing my name, b/c I didn't. On the other hand, I am still Mrs. (DH) and it's correct to call me that! Oh, maybe they assumed that you kept the same name that your child has? I think that a lot of people assumed that about a friend of mine who had a daughter before she was married to her DH.

Obviously you would put your correct name in the response card. Then, if you are attending the wedding, they should correct their records and get it right by the time they do place cards. If they don't get it right then, I'd be really annoyed.

Go to the wedding, call her out ... and tear the tiara right off her head. Give her some color for her wedding day... a nice black eye.

Okay.. maybe I am just feeling a little violent today. I would probably be irritated too. But then again... I am irritated by just about everything these days.

I would feel the same way ~ I know when FH and I we were dating about a year ~ and a friend of his addressed his invitation and guest.... like helllloooooo they know we were serious etc...i was upset!

Maybe she wasnt sure whether you changed your name. I thought that if you didnt change your name you were still addressed as Ms. I would like to know the answer to this since one of my placecards is to a newly married couple and I didnt know how to address them.
