I've had this little 10 pound ball of fut for 14 years...he was a birthday present from my best friend. He's never been loving or kind, and has always enjoyed biting and scratching me.... but lately, he (and this sounds crazy) TERRORIZES me when I'm sleeping!!
Every morning, I take a shower and then go back to bed for a little more sleep....well, he climbs into bed with me and then stares at me....i've learned not to let him see my arms above the covers, becasue the sight of my pale flesh incites a rage in him and he attacks me arms. So I wait until he's settled and then i can put my arms above the covers.
But, starting yesterday, hiding my arms wasnt' enough....he tried to attack my head!!! It sound so silly, but I am terrified of him in the morning...I have to trick him and then pick him up and lock him out of the room....
What can I do with this little evil freak of nature????? And does anyone know why he might be behaving like this?
And, he only does this in the morning, during the day, and at night, he leaves me alone and will even curl up next to me on the couch......
SUGGESTIONS??????

I doubt the cat is pregnant though....HE was neautered as a kitten....so if he is, there's more to worry about than just a baby!
Today's update....he was fine this morning. When Tom got up before me (becuse I dont' have to work again this summer ), Gunnar bothered him instead of me, and I pretended to be alseep, and he never came near me. So it miht just be a 'I want to bother whoever wakes up' mood thing
I dont' think it's because he's hungry because he has dry food out all day long....so he can eat whenever he wants.
And then I woke up when the phone ran (damn those solicitations! didn't they know it was only 10am!!!) the cat got up with me, and tried to bite my arms....but when I covered them, he went right back to sleep and left my face alone. I think it's an affectionate thing (crazy, I know) because right after he tries to bite me, I'll get up to start the morning, and he'll purr and rub up against me all lovey dovey.
I think he's getting old and he's confused...**should I be nice, should I be mean....who knows? I guess I'll just bite her and then rub up against her and maybe I'll get a treat**
So all is well with Lori and her Gunnar this morning! Thanks for asking!!

The cat started doing that when my friend got pregnant - not when the cat got pregnant!!

but he has no claws, so a scratching post makes no sense......
i figured out a way to torture him right back......the vacuum....he hates it.....so as long as ai vacuum and freak him out, i feel like we're equally torturing each other.
we can co-exist in mutual hatred of each other now

I don't think he would pay you any attention if he didn't like you. My Luke wakes me up every morning by trying to get his head under the covers. I sit up after he jumps on my feet and say NO in his face and he just looks at me like, WHATEVER WOMAN. As soon as I lie back down...he goes at it again. They are confusing. He'll plop in my arms and sleep, then start giving me back kicks on my arm, then I move my arm, then he nibbles on it like he wants my arm on him...just can't win. So I bury myself in the comforter and sweat until its time to get up. He won't get off hte bed until my alarm goes off. He sits right up when it goes off and is ready to start the day with me. CATS. I love them!
