I'm clueless - Gift Suggestions for 1 year old

For the BTDT moms (and anyone else) -- the boys' first b-day is this month and the questions for gift suggestions are starting. I honestly have no ideas -- which makes me feel like a bad mommy.

What were some gifts your 1 year olds loved? Can anyone suggest a good ride-on toy (the one thing I know I want them to have). I can't seem to find one second to go to the store to scope it out -- the boys are totally off schedule these past weeks.

Thanks!

here is a great ride on toy that Luke LOVES - Step 2 push around buggy. My DH 'drives' him to the store in it alot. It was $39 I think

Also, I saw in the Toys R Us Holiday catalog this wagon which looks perfect, especially since you have the 2 boys. I love that it has straps. LOL it has cup & juice box holders too:

Their website says it's $79 but the catalog said $61 and there was a coupon for $10 off.

HTH

ETA: The wagon is Radio Flyer.

How much is that Baby Tad? Would it be appropriate for a 2 yr old? My friend's sons 2nd bday is soon and I need some ideas?

Liz-One of the moms at the gym told me about that pull along truck. It looks sOO CUTE!

Leap Frog does make GREAT products!

For a 1yr old, Id say something to ride on, or definately something interactive. and a book or two is always a great add-on.

John Anthony, grabs a book and sits in daddy's lap with it. LOOOVEESSSS his books. I recently bought him a few good bks, het got quite a few for his bday, and grandma is adding to his library.
and mommy takes him to the library at least every other week to get more books and sit around and play with the toys other kids...

Anna - I just started doing that with Lukie too. We joined a Mommy & Me class at the library and the libraries here are terrific with a wonderful children's area. I'm trying to get Luke interested in the books, he has lots from my baby shower but he is such a wildman, he doesnt sit still that often. But just lately he's showing some signs of being able to sit for a bit.

I agree, Leap Frog stuff is great. I went to a yard sale this weekend and got 2 LF toys for $2.00 each - the circus animal stacker and the Ship Ahoy Sorter -too cute!!!

For anyone that's looking for ride-on toy ideas, here are a few that Paul has:
The Rock, Roll n Ride by Fisher Price

The Ready, Steady Ride On by Fisher Price

And, the Step Start Walk n Ride by Hasbro
