We registered for our china and a few vases and candle sticks.....stuff people gave us at our e-party. All the big stuff we will register for the end of summer.

We're not yet - but probably around July ish - I think - FH wants to do it with me so I have to wait until one of our 'visits'! I would love to do it sooner though and not have it viewable!

we reg for china/crystal/place settings, pots and pans, kitchen utensils - stuff that we know we'll have for a loooooooong time. China especially - you have to love it forever.

I have not registered yet either. When I walk into Fortunoff or Bloomies or look at catalogs, I say to myself, I want this, and this and this , hahaahah. I want it alllllll. I cant wait to reg. If I am getting married in June/July of 08, when should I reg?

I have...I was thinking we have the e-party coming up, and now our families and friends are used to giving money but just in case someone wants to give a gift i thought it would be good to give that option. So one day FH and had nothing to do early on a saturday afternoon so i said hey lets go register lol and we did.

i just want to register before my e-party (but not make it well known because we prefer money), but do it for the people that refuse to give cash for eparties (like my mom)

Yeah most people dont know we registered, i only told a few close friends, and then told our parents of course and just a few close friends of theirs know...but dont know who else they spread the word to

i already registered for almost everything china, glassware, pot/pans, everything for the kitchen, bedding, picture frames, towels i know i'm leaving things out. but i registered when i got engaged- i know its early, but i got some stuff when i had my eparty!

my mom said if people ask where we are registered, she will spread the word that because we do not have a place yet, they prefer cash, however, if you are uncomfy with that they are registered here....this way we are not being rude, but if they don't want to give money, we still get something we like, want, will use

well my side of the family and parents friends NEVER give gifts so they will give money, and fh's side well if they ask his mother i dont think she is going to let people know bc she would prefer us to get cash.
I do want cash dont get me wrong but if someone really wants to give a gift i dont want them to feel they have to give money, especially those who are older and prefer giving gifts. But since the word wont get spread we wont really get anything off of our registry.

that was why my mom said she would do it that way....cause she didn't want people to feel uncomfortable

THat sounds about right. I went to register about 9 or 10mths before the wedding at BBB and the coordinator told me that its kinda early for me to register...I mean he let me do it anyway..but he told me the problem with registering early is that by the time ur guest go to start buying stuff off ur registry a lot of the items may not be avaliable any more..since its such a big gap. I read thats its best to register around 6mths into ur wedding

We didn't yet. And I don't know when we plan on doing so. Even with the eparty coming up. I think some people think it's rude that we haven't, but we really need cash!![]()

I was told by a Fortunoff rep that things change so frequently so dont register until about 6-8 months before. The one thing that you can register early for is china and silver because those typically dont change very often. But blenders and other stuff can easily change ie, they change handles, colors, etc and things get discontinued so you are screwed with 8 yellow coffee mugs and saucers and 0 plates to go with them. So we are going to register for the expensive china and silver just after the e-party and not for the other stuff until just before Christmas of next year so we can get some stuff off there for the holidays! ![]()

That's what I was thinking also. I'm scared that something I fall in love with, someone will buy 1 or two things from it then the rest will be unavailable or discontinued. My mom keeps asking me to register so her and my dad can start buying us stuff in increments so it's not just one big purchase at one time lol (she's a nut) but I keep telling her I think we're going to wait till at least May or June of this year.
