I'm down 5 pounds!

I'm down 5 pounds!

Hey Ladies

I'm posting this out of excitement and hopefully to inspire-I know we have all written so many posts about what we're doing, why isn't it working, etc..

4 weeks ago I joined Weight Watchers online-before WW the only diet I knew was the no carb/sugar torture device which isn't the best and its awful (even though it works).
Through doing WW online it's given me a plan and has taught me the concept of BALANCE when it comes to diet and exercise. I joined on a Wednesday, so my weigh in days are every wednesday. Seriously it hasn't been that hard and I don't feel like I'm depriving myself at all.

The clincher for me is the activity points-every time you're in the gym you gain extra points which means-more food! I've been at the gym 4-5 tims a week, but in the last week work was insane and I only made it 3 times. Which is still really good!

So if you're like me and feel like you've tried everything..you can do this!! Especially WW online, I can go on it from my blackberry while I'm commuting. Definitely FM me if you need support or have questions.

My short term goal isn't a number-it's to make it a point to work out 4-5 times a week! I just turned 30 in March and I definitely feel a change in my body and my metabolism is slowing down. By working out I feel so much better.

My long term goal-is another 14 pounds. I am not overweight by any means (A lot of the girls who have met me would say that) but being 5'7 and a muscular frame, for me losing another 15 really leans me out. Its more like 'taking a layer or 2 off' .
I've been at that weight before (my goal weight) but I got there by totally depriving and starving myself, and not working out. Now I'm finding out that you can get there by good old fashioned calories in, calories out, and getting your butt in the gym consistently.

CONGRATS!!!!

I've been having a hard time dropping the pounds and I'm following WW to the letter....I didn't realize until I read y our post that I'm also 30 and the weight will drop differently now- definitely NOT as quickly as before.

I'm kicking up the exercise, that should help! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring.

Re: I'm down 5 pounds!

Congratulations! That's wonderful!

I just turned 30 in April and I haven't seen any body changes yet (thankfully). I've always been overweight, but am in the best shape of my life right now after losing 40 lbs over 2 1/2 years (I've been stuck for a year now at that weight -- still overweight, but a lot better).

I don't have a gym membership right now because I can't find any local gyms that will let me join for just a few months without charging me an arm and a leg (I'm moving to NC after the wedding, so I can't do a year committment). I go with a friend to her gym a few times a month, and I've been trying to run on my own when the weather isn't rainy (hard to find lately!!!).

Just remember that when you're building muscle, muscle weighs more than fat, so the scale may not be moving, but you're still shedding that layer, as you call it.

Keep up the healthy work!!!! It's so great to hear that you're doing this the 'right' way instead of starving yourself this time!!

Awww you are so cute Jen!

I did WW, it's amazing! Now I'm too lazy for it and so I'm doing Jenny Craig. So far I've lost a little over 16 pounds on JC. And overall I'm down about 30 pounds from my all time high weight! Wooo Hooo! I still have a looooooong way to go though!!!!!

Congratulations! Keep up the good work!!!!!

I have a mega commute too!

Here's my workout method: My 2 days off a week-I am in the gym. No excuses.
Then 2 other days of my work week I go. What I do is leave my gym clothes/sneakers on my bed so its ready to go. Even if I dash to the gym and do 30 minutes on a treadmill or elliptical its still something.

One of my work friends is doing the P90x videos and is seeing major results! Might be a good option if you can't get in the gym.

Congrats that's great. I am def OVER the 30 mark (by 6 years) and noticed a change in my metabolism which was never great to begin with. . so I def keep up at the gym. . did WW years ago. . maybe it's time to go back. .I eat pretty well but could probably 're-learn' all the details of balancing things out. plus it's one thing to know what to do but another to have the points reminder to keep you honest !!!!
