and continue to desire the reese's peanut butter ice-creamy-goodness in the freezer....

Sample Sizes lie! Actually, bridal gown sizes lie. My dress size is 2 sizes bigger than I wear in pants. LETS REVOLT.

honestly.. I feel like your wedding is the 1 day you want to feel AMAZING.. and shopping for your wedding dress should be SO much fun..

Wedding dress designers should make the dress sizes like 2-3 sizes SMALLER than normal so you feel FABULOUS trying them on!!!

Re: i'm fat

I tried to remind myself that bridal dresses run smaller BUT it is difficult when the lady at the store has to tightly secure the dress with plastic clips to your bra straps I hated that!!!

Re: i'm fat

Bridal gowns are SOOO off in size thats its not funny. I am usually a size 0 in clothes...and they didn't have to pin a size 12 that much on me.. so don't let it make you feel bad. A size 12 is probably like a size 4 in normal sizes!

I feel the same way but I just looked at your pics, and you are defintely not fat! We're all so hard on ourselves.

I'm so terrifed about beginning to look for dresses this weekend.

awh, tanks kit. but when i go to these shops & tell then i want a certain style, there are always so many less options,

i think someone mentioned the wedding center having lots of sizes more suitable for the curvaceous.

and i know they run small, but you'd think since everyone proclaimed smallness, they'd try for more fabric!

more fabric!

I actually don't get why they run so small. What's the point?! Aurgh! I was going to wait till I lost weight to start looking, but the time is ticking and I haven't really lost anything yet!

you are so NOT fat! i just looked at your pics! i am truly fat and i thought wedding dress shopping was fun! have you gone to a lot of shops? do you call first to see if they have sample sizes above size 16? i did that beforehand to spare myself the time and trouble of squeezing into a 6!

i had a really good experience at lillette's in baldwin and i'm buying my dress from there. i've read a ton of mixed things about them on these boards and have heard not so great stories about their alterations department but so far i've had a great experience with them and i never felt fat when i was there. i'm keeping my fingers crossed on the alterations!

but, bottom line is, you are beautiful and no matter what size you are, you will looking amazing on your wedding day!

ps.....haven't tried the reese's but i'm seriously seriously addicted to ice cream

So was mine. I tried to talk the lady out of it, lol. I was like, 'Hey um...I plan on loosing weight so can we order a smaller size?' And she said that it's always better to have more room then you need that way alterations would be eaiser.......but still when I think about that number it kinda gets under my skin (and I know it shouldn't because it's a lie...A LIE I TELL YOU).

Don't worry everyone....you will all look fantastic!!

ugh this is adding to my dress anxiety ... im afraid that they wont have dresses for me to try on

ok - i wear a 12ish (sometimes 14, sometimes 10) will they have dresses for me to try? I already feel bad enough about my fat self - i dont need to walk in there, and then them tell me that they have nothing for me to try on

I think we're probably about the same size. Some of the samples were toooooo small (the 8's mainly), the 10's were okay, tight, but you get the idea. The 12's fit perfectly with a little tighness (b/c my thighs are fat, lol). I had a pretty decent experience trying on dresses, sometimes I felt kinda fat and sometimes I didn't (like when I tried on some Maggie Sottero's and the gown that I eventually bought). And I'm going to spill the beans and say that my dress was ordered in a 16 because they had to fit the dress around my boobs, which is my main problem....

I think you'll be fine
