My longtime friend is trying to play matchmaker. Actually it is her and her husband- both whom I have known forever. Chris has this friend who had a similar situation- wife wanted to party (she was a long beach local like my husband- is it something in the water?) didnt want kids anymore etc. so the were divorced. This guy is a teacher in Garden City, he lives in Long Beach (go figure)and owns a house and my friend said hes really cute and has a great personality. He is originally from California, not a local. :)
So I agreed to go out with them for dinner on Friday. Chris told this guys about me and my situation and he wants to meet me. I figure what the he!!. I am a little nervous. So is my friend.

Yankee guys turned out to be a real jerk. He just never called. All of the sudden, just stopped. No warning signs or anything. He is a MEAN JERK!!! :) Im over it....

My husband is still trying his hardest to prove himself and work things out. He supposedly is going to counseling twice a week, hes been calling me and asking me to meet for lunch, nothing more just to talk..... I agreed to go out with him Saturday afternoon to talk and possible bring some closure/see if I have any feelings for him. I honestly feel that it is over but I need to talk and have everything out inthe open so he knows how I feel about everything- We havent had that yet. So thats been on my mind. He bought me a Xmas gift too and left it at my door. A Fortunoff Silver locket and the Seinfeld DVDs because he knows that is my favorite.
Believe me, I am going into that situation strong and level headed. I am not going to be persuaded by his charm and his talk. I fell for that one too many times.

My ex (the one before my husband) has been calling me more since he found out I was separated. He dropped off a xmas gift and a bottle of wine. I dont have any feelings for him but I dont mind keeeping in touch as friends. And he knows how I feel. He is actually going back to Iraq in a few weeks (hes a marine/nassau cop).

So 2005 is starting off with the a bang!!!!!

Plus I have Vegas in a few weeks. I think I have enough drama to keep me going...

Jenn, as always you beat me to the punch - -I was going to say the EXACT same thing

but i could not have said it any better.

Marriage is a sacred thing -- if it's meant to be over, so be it. But from what I hear, he's really trying to change his ways and in light of this, he deserves another chance. If he screws up again, then he's out, but you were only married less than a year, and every marriage has a rough spot in the beginning. I would give it another go.

Remember, for better or for worse.
