Ok, so FH and I said that we would spend the least on flowers and centerpieces b/c to us that was the least important. After taking a look at what we have spent so far we decided that $2,500 would be our flower budget - and we'd most likely end up with small, low centerpieces for the reception. That was 100% okay with me and I really don't want to spend alot on flowers because I'm starting to get nervous about the amount of money we are spending for this wedding....
Now, as most of you probably remember my FH works for a DJ company. The company recently started doing uplighting/ambiance lighting and we are going to have it for the reception. We didn't meet with a florist yet, but like I said, we figured we would get small, low CPs and they would be red flowers. We figured that the only color uplighting we could do was red. I told FH that I wasn't 100% crazy about having red lighting - he told me that if I didn't like it the day of they could just turn the lights off....
This weekend we are going to visit some florists and FH keeps pestering me asking if I made the appointments yet So I guess he really wants to go this weekend. Well this morning FH tells me that he thinks he wants branch centerpieces with crystals hanging and he wants to do this ice blue color uplighting for the reception and he thinks it would look so much better than the red. I do agree with him - but I told him that I really don't think its possible to do with our budget - unless we tell the florist we only want 3 twigs Why does my FH have to be so involved for Now he has me thinking about it and I want to kill him - I think it would be different since the RH is decorated for Christmas with lots of reds and golds, my BMs are wearing taupe, the boks will be reds/burgundy, ceremony will be reds, the CH will have christmas music by the string trio so there will def be that holiday/Christmas atmosphere going on - and then if the reception room has those branch CP's with crystals and the ice blue uplighting - it would still be winterish but its a totally different vibe which is cool - and I'm really starting to like the idea for the reception....
I dont know what to do now! Kill FH for putting these ideas in my head? I'm trying to figure out how much more this would cost. Anyone have CP's like this? I'm going to

do you have a big or small bp? also are you doing ceremony flower decorations?
depending on this maybe you can do it within your budget
how many guests are you having. If you have lets say about 150 guests and 10 people to a table then you'll need about 15 cp's and it would cost $2,625 if the cp's will cost $175 each or 3k if theyre $200
well i have 3 bridesmaids and me - i want the bridesmaids all to have the same small bok and i want a small bok too that is just a little fuller maybe....
i want that structure at JT covered in tulle kind of like a chuppah for the ceremony and i want a candle lit aisle - but i think we can DIY if the florists want too much for it....
there will be 20 tables max at the reception....our minimum is 175 and we are trying to meet it without going over - so maybe we can do 10 high CPs and 10 low ones....
we are going to flowers by burton and flower michele to start....if we go a little over thats okay - if its like 2 grand or more over thats too much

We always complain that FH isn't that interested in the wedding and then here they are putting more expensive ideas in our heads... I think you guys should meet with a florist and find out how much the branch cp costs typically....you could always alternate those cps and low cps to save money if you really wanted to...

i actually just went through my emails and read the quote i got for 20 branch cps with crystals from flowers by burton and it was $3,798 - that also included the chuppah covering, an arrangement for the top of the chuppah, rose petals for the aisle, them to set up our candles for the aisle, and for my bok and bm boks....that quote was basically for everything....so if we only did half branches i'm sure they can bring it down a touch....i wish it was saturday so i could go harrass all these florists already i hate not knowing how much things might cost hahahaha

are you getting flowers for the chuppah like thing? if so that will be what will cost you more money. If not then might not be that bad and yeah you can bring in your own candles
if you do have 20 tables then the cp's will either cost $3500 or $4k. Average price for bm bok's are about $80-150 and brides bok anywhere from $125-220 ive seen as average, depends on what you get. I would say to figure about $500 for the bok's, then theres bouts but that wont be bad. Are you doing corsages or nosegays for the mothers is another thing but i would add that to bok costs and say about $600-700 for your bok's.
If you do end up with 20 tables at a cost of $175 per cp then it will be a little over $4k, i will estimate about $4,300 again depending on the bok's. This price is without the tulle
if you do 20 cp's at $200 each then i would say it would cost about $4700-5k again this is without the tulle or any ceremony flowers

Why don't you think about making the whole branch, hanging crystal part and contact the florist for the flowers. I plan on doing gold branches w/ hanging candle votives - and got the branches 75% off at pier 1. Much cheaper, plus you can get what you want.

try going to Tim's Florist in massapequa. I'm not getting branch centerpieces but their prices were better than Burton's. Good luck!

Try looking at Flower Barn in Seaford, too. . . .I went to Burton's Tim's Florist and Atlantic Florist in Freeport - Flower Barn beat all the prices and I actually think I'm getting more from them than anyone else!
Good luck - I like the alternating high and low idea - the branches sound so pretty, I love the look! Maybe if you can find the branches cheaper somewhere (like someone mentioned 75 percent off above) you can supply them to the florist and they can work with you on the price??
